True. Humankind seems to believe the whole universe rotates around them when actually we are not even as important to the universe as a gnat would be to us.
We can do very little to help ourselves and everyone else on the earth to have any kind of good life. But that little that we can do is very important so we should try to do what we can.

That we have no control over mom’s Parkinson’s . She took a spill last night . 4th in 8 days . However last night’s fall sent us scrambling to South Health Campus from our warm beds . It was different this time , as she was bleeding .She has that bleeding disorder . After all tests and ct scan of brain were done , she thankfully just required some stitches . Back at her care home now . She is sleeping and comfortable . Being watched by staff . We have to tell , we are so lucky 🍀 she is watched . Every 15 minutes now she is checked on for a few days . Then back to every 1/2 hour . We have a great relationship with her care team . Yet she worries not a minute . She believes in her choices !
What we learned is that life continues , Regardless !

ACCEPTANCE !! Regardless of the religion you pick , hopefully we are not putting others down . Wether you are a 2X2 or ex 2X2 . Whatever you believe is ok , we respect many 2X2’s .
2X2’s will always be in our life . So last night we were called about mom . This is what we do . We get a call & Rhodey’s get a call at as well . Because I can no longer drive , they are team one . I am less than few miles from Rhodey’s thankfully . We were all sleeping last night when the call came They got up and they looked for clothes we guess , because I stayed in my pj’s . I was picked up by them and taken to hospital . I could call a cab , it’s not far . But we take comfort from them . Because they love mom (our family) so much , we continue to accept the hand held out with gratitude . They remained human , not just 2X2’s .
The acceptance remains . Some people may have called a cab . We love the fact that the truth or them being 2X2’s is not a issue . We quarrel sometimes . When making decisions . They are the calm and I am not , so it works . When we made the funeral plans for mom they were there . It wasn’t about faith it was about loving mom . Before we went to the funeral home , mom and I discussed a few things the hymns she wanted and cremation was picked . As all was explained I added 1 of mom’s requests . Mom wanted George and Rita and all of their families , sitting with our family . 2nd we also asked Mom’s best friend of 78 years + , to sit with the family . So in the end it’s not about religion , it’s about being human , plus acceptance regardless of everyone’s journey !

Are you with your mum now? You did say you were doing face time with her but your post says that you were with her at the Campus last night.

Yes she was transferred to the hospital . South Health Campus via ambulance . She arrived first at SHC . If she had not been bleeding she would have been watched over at her care centre , Walden Heights . We are still FaceTiming when she is up to it . We have been in contact with Walden Heights a few times today . Unfortunately COVID19 is not helping . For the safety of all their clients/patient’s , NO FACE TO FACE VISITS ! We get it . 1 person is allowed in mom’s room . It is very hard on mom . She has slept a lot today thankfully . We can drop stuff off at main entrance , that is as far as we can get . I did call her twice , but she didn’t pick up phone . Rita was going to try later this afternoon . I am hoping that we can FaceTime at our usual time 6pm as 1 pm didn’t happen . But she may not be up to it . She just got a new iPad and hung up by accident twice Saturday . Just letting her rest . I am at my home . At present time with COVID19 the restrictions for visitors are many . 3 out of 4 of our hospitals have COVID19 outbreaks 😷 . Unless you are sick , they don’t want people hanging around . Just like hospital’s around the world are struggling to keep up . Don’t know where you live but Calgarian’s are worried . I asked a EMT worker how do they do this day after day . She said this is what we signed up for . Our largest shelter in Calgary has a bad out break presently . We are not able to understand where our homeless go for refuge . Some rehabs have COVID-19 . The world is not a pretty picture right now .

BTW ENUF , if she had a brain bleed we would have seen her . Other than that tests such as a ct were run and she was cleared and transported back to Walden Heights via ambulance . Smoked a lot of cigarettes 🚬 though 😊 We are waiting right for her to talk to us . So maybe she can explain to us what happened and what she remember’s . She is losing days . She is getting more forgetful but at 87 these things happen . The hospital bed will ensure that the sides are up at nighttime . Parkinson’s patients do start to forget . It’s a part of Parkinson’s life . She may not know why she fell .

Update on mom . She said she might have passed out . Zero explanation from mom basically . 17 minutes of FaceTime with assistant from a psw . However she stated she hated the brain scan . Other than that we know nothing . She is not making a lot of sense right now . But she’s 87 .

"When you become entitled to exercise the right of voting for public officers, let it be impressed on your mind that God commands you to choose for rulers, ‘just men who will rule in the fear of God.’ The preservation of [our] government depends on the faithful discharge of this Duty; if the citizens neglect their Duty and place unprincipled men in office, the government will soon be corrupted; laws will be made, not for the public good so much as for selfish or local purposes; corrupt or incompetent men will be appointed to execute the Laws; the public revenues will be squandered on unworthy men; and the rights of the citizen will be violated or disregarded. If [our] government fails to secure public prosperity and happiness, it must be because the citizens neglect the Divine Commands, and elect bad men to make and administer the Laws.” – Noah Webster

Webster in early life was something of a freethinker, but in 1808 he became a convert to Calvinistic orthodoxy, and thereafter became a devout Congregationalist who preached the need to Christianize the nation. Webster grew increasingly authoritarian and elitist, fighting against the prevailing grain of Jacksonian Democracy. Webster viewed language as a tool to control unruly thoughts. His American Dictionary emphasized the virtues of social control over human passions and individualism, submission to authority, and fear of God; they were necessary for the maintenance of the American social order from wiki

ummmm even some indians didn't believe you could own the land... the pilgrims had a treaty for 40 years with the locals before things went sour... and it really wasn't till after the french and indian war that most people started treating indians like crap...

Yes, of course. Provoke them into defending themselves and they can be blamed for everything. Soothes the conscience.
