Dear Readers, Tonight I want to share something with you that was passed on to me recently.
At a gathering workers were told by Barry Barkley: You are mandated reporters, regardless of what your state law is.
You will report in a timely manner, what you see, what you suspect, what you hear and what you are told.
You will make that call to the authorities and you will get a log number to keep on record.
When asked what about reporting it to an overseer it was said that it is your choice. You can if you want, it's not required but regardless you will report it to the law.
This is nothing short of a miracle. How long have we been waiting for this to happen?? Our hearts are thanking God for this very monumental development and we hope and pray that this practice will spread to other states (the West) and other countries

It seems that after the Seneca meeting there were no clear instructions regarding reporting, only a resolution to deal with CSA more resolutely. Just several months ago, almost 3 years after the Seneca meeting, a worker expressed to me lack of lack of clear official guidelines as to what to do in case of CSA allegations, as well as personal belief that they should not be reported, but handled within the church. It will be interesting to see if all the workers will be notified of the new instructions to act according to mandatory reporting laws.
