I transferred a bunch of photos from the Pictures folder into the My Docs icon on my desktop. I can see the edge of the pictures sticking out but cannot find the pictures when I open the My Docs icon or figure out how to move the pictures back to the Pictures folder. *sigh*
I did a system restore but that didn't do a thing.
Help!!!

In the My Docs icon I see the edges of the pictures, but I can't pull them out. If I click on the icon, I open the file but the pictures aren't there just my other pictures.

( I'd ask you to post a screen shot of what you see, but I've forgotten how to post them )

I transferred a bunch of photos By dragging and dropping? Sticking out of what? Behind the My Docs icon on the desktop? If the answer is yes, then most likely the files are on the desktop along with the My Docs icon. Browse to your desktop and see if they are in the desktop folder.

I did a search for "desktop folder" and when I opened it I found a list of the things that are on my desktop. No pictures. I remembered the name of some of the pictures and did a search for them. They showed up under My Docs folder and not the desktop icon by the same name. I moved them to My Pictures. There are still some photos sticking out from under the My Doc desktop icon. I so appreciate you taking the time to help.

Knowing the operating system you are using might help. Did you Move the files or Copy them? There are multiple Desktop folders. Most users have access to two. Depending on the state of your system at the time the files could have dropped into either one.

If I had copied them, I wouldn't be worried about finding them again. Continue, please...

No. I can see them sticking out of the edge of the folder but can't remember anymore names.

No. I can see them sticking out of the edge of the folder but can't remember anymore names. What you see is an icon that represents a folder with files. It is just an icon and there may or may not be files within. Generally speaking, the My Docs folder on your desktop is located on a different resource - a server or, more likely, your My Docs online account. Is it possible you are not logged into that service? I don't know anyone who actually used it since it is expensive and the current charge is about $10 per month per Gb. Perhaps you mean the My Documents icon. And remember - there most likely are multiple desktops on your system.
