In eternity, will we be worshiping Jesus the Lamb of God and God the Father? And where will the Holy Spirit fit in? This topic is probably over my head, but as it isn't mentioned much in gospel meetings (and not too often at convention), I'd like to learn more. Thanks for the references, btw.

Hi Nathan In your first post at 9 23 you seem to give a rather long discourse about the triunne nature of GOD We as earthly beings find this difficult to comprehend however the bible makes it clear
However in your rather long post of a worker [evert] posted at 9.50 I found his message confusing I have never have heard a worker handle the Diety of Christ well, yet in the early days of the movement , Eddie Cooney and William Irvine clearly beleived in a Triune God. It seems that over the years, one would assume ,because of a lack of sound doctrinal teaching , many basics of the scripture are not well understood by the 2x2 leadership

@ hberry: Rev 5:11-14 would suggest exactly what you say; all of creation worshipping the One seated on the throne and the Lamb. N9 might have a suggestion for how The Holy Spirit fits in....

I believe the Holy Spirit will remain on earth until after the millenial reign of Christ and satan is thrown in the lake of fire. When the earth is rolled up like a scroll. I dont know of anywhere where it says he will leave and if he did I for one would not want to be here.

Nathan, it's not surprising that Jesus was trying to teach that he and his father were one. He was trying to get them to grasp that we are "all" one. We are not seperate from God except in our physical consciousness. At the soul level, there is no seperation. We just choose to forget that or have been taught by religions to forget that.

Nathan9, Thanks for the Leo Stancliff notes; to me, these were clearer for me than the Everett notes. I doubt that we will ever see this topic on the Bible study list, but I wish we would. I want to be scripturally correct in all of my beliefs. I was tickled to see Mabel Gibson's name on the list--my Mom heard the gospel through her and experienced Mabel's deep love for the flock first hand.

You mention praying to Jesus....what scripture would support that? Didn't He say that anything we would ask of the Father in His (Jesus) name would be granted, not that we should pray TO Him? although I do understand He was still in human form when he said that. do you know if Howard Mooney ever spoke on this subject?

Thx for the quick response. I always took the John 14 verses to mean that we would ask the Father and Jesus would grant it and that the Holy Spirit would be the instrument through which the work would be done. This gives me plenty to meditate and pray about.
I'm in So Cal, so I didn't know Howard personally, but I always felt he had a gift (among a multitude of other gifts) for explaining things easily and his thoughts on the matter would likely be easy to follow.
I wish workers spoke about this a bit more as I've never felt comfortable answering this question when those from other faiths ask. But I do need to do the "heavy lifting" myself with the Spirit's aid.

hberry, here are some prayers in the NT directed towards Jesus:
Mark 10:47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me.
John 20:28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My LORD and my God.
Acts 7:59 And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.
