I ran across this board whilst having some “memories” of past ‘friends’ and people I’ve had opportunity to share life experiences with. I may come across as cryptic, but that’s because of a rather reclusive upbringing, part of which is due to the inherent secretive nature of the “two by two” doctrine emanating into every part of many adherents lives… So I’ll share as much of my story as I feel comfortable sharing, without disclosing too many details of people or some particular events. I feel that in doing it in this matter that some of the more harrowing experiences of those tenser moments will be mitigated out of my memory. In my current Oriental studies, we’ve been encouraged to talk about and expose past heart-mind stones, so they can be dealt with, so here I go… So this board is for ex workers and I affirm that I am a member. I became a part of the 2x2 ministry about 30 years ago… wow how time flies. It was in a West coast state. Alan suggested some key points as a structure, I’ll try to stick to some of those... I didn't realize this Coffee Talk thread had been resurrected earlier this summer! I enjoyed reading your story, Vedge - thanks! I no longer live near Coffee Talk in Honolulu, as I have moved to Guam, where I am now sitting at Brewed Awakenings.

And these days a daily dose of Brewed Awakenings is what we strive for, whether it's plain coffee, tea or a mind cup of the unseen brewed awakenings ...

"Whenever I touch a flower, I touch the sun and yet I don't get burned. When I touch the flower, I touch a cloud without flying to the sky. When I touch the flower, I touch my consciousness, your consciousness, and the great planet Earth at the same time.
- The miracle is possible because of insight into the nature of interbeing. If you really touch one flower deeply, you touch the whole cosmos. The cosmos is neither one nor many. When you touch one, you touch many, and when you touch many, you touch one.." ~Thich Nhat Hanh

I was a worker around 1991 in Colorado. I left the work and left altogether but do wonder from time to time how a few old friends are doing. I’ve lost touch with all except the friend who introduced me to the truth in high school.

Enough, enuf! We don't want to give the man a hard time over semantics.
You know & I know that if he was a "worker" and talking about the "TRUTH" he is talking about the 2x2's, -even if not all people believe the 2x2's is about Jesus.

Hello Joey! Were you still on the Colorado staff in 1995? I was a California worker back then. My grandfather had married a professing lady in Colorado a year or two prior, and I was invited to both Colorado conventions that year. Would our paths have crossed? No Alan, I was active in Colorado and the 4 corners area from 1989-1991 only.

I was in the work for 20 years in the western US. Remember Alan well. Since leaving in 2010, I’ve married, started a career and am the father of two delightful children. I still go to meetings but I suppose I wouldn’t be considered “hearty”. I don’t hold any bitterness anymore as I once did. Thank God for that. My wife didn’t come from a background of “truth” so she has been an excellent influence on me in many ways. There’s lots of things I’d like to share, and will eventually. Just making the leap to join is enough for one day.

I don't keep up on TMB very well, Gary, and I missed your post. Congratulations on "making the leap"! I was in the work for 20 years in the western US. Remember Alan well. Gary,, agreeing with Alan and the others! Being from the NW USA, I wonder if we have met?
Being fed dose after dose of bitters, perhaps it’s a marvel any of us aren’t bitter still! Let us put our trust in that which is sweet, promising a better resurrection.
