Ok, Scott, lets say what you posted (as asked to) is true and the guy HAS a mental problem...might it not have been dealt with in a christian compassionate manner by letting the guy KNOW beforehand that his name wasn't going to be on the list? and even, lets say he had been warned, (and that I am only suggesting, I don't know) it still should have been told to him BEFORE the list came out. I spoke with someone who talked directly with winq and he said he wasn't aware that his name wouldn't be there. I am sorry but in my opinion it appears to smack of "I'll show him who is boss" by the way it was dealt with.

What is the WinQ to do now for a living? I understand he is up in years? Looks like bad management, bad communication, no compassion, no...., bad......, no......, bad.....etc.

someone mentioned (xxxxx)...is the WIQ (xxxxxx)? Modified to remove the workers name. Although not a violation to have it here, due to the sensitive nature of some of the posts the name has been removed. Not your norm as it were. Does Tom have a successor? How much longer will he be around?

From my experience Normans do tend to be rather unusual people.
Rob, they came from North-west France (Normandy), Battle of Hastings 1066 and all that. I didn't realise they got as far as Ireland.
Maybe Tommy is dealing with an illegal immigrant?

Scott, I would like to thank you for posting this. I am not tryiing to defend Tommie Gamble in any way when I say this, but I would just like to say that even Irish coins have two sides. Also, although I may be too submissive to this way, I am in no way blind to the failings of it or those in charge. You're welcome. Scott

Yes, I would think that the right way to handle 'firing' someone is to have a meeting with them and discuss the situation beforehand. No argument from me there! I have heard of the same thing happening elsewhere when a worker is being removed from the work. Seems kind of silly to wait until a new list comes out to give someone the boot. If it needs to be done, then it should just be done as needed rather than wait until sending out a new list. Maybe it is done that way so people don't ask questions and can assume that the worker has just been moved elsewhere..... Anyhow, I have removed the worker's name from this thread. I would appreciate it if people would refrain from posting the name here. Everyone there is aware of who is being discussed, and if anyone feels they need to know the name they can PM me and I will give it to them. This was done by request from one of our members. Thanks! Scott

Someone is potentially wrong done by and we have to be secretive about it. That is one of the biggest problems with the 2x2s and those of us raised in this way...everything is always in secret when things need to be dealt with openly and honestly. Can we still mention the overseers name who removed the worker?

Does Tom have a successor? How much longer will he be around? Judging by the results of the accompanying referendum, there would appear to be so many people wanting to beat him with a stick that it is doubtful he will be around for very long. Matt10

So WinQ will return to his family home ... and find TG/JD as his local workers?
That sounds difficult.

I don't think the WinQ will have any trouble finding work, in keeping with the old tradition of the meetings, his baby brother has loadsamoney.
I'm not criticising baby bro', he's very generous with his cash, but the WinQ will not want for anything material, not that Tommy gave a s**t about that for in his criticising the WinQ for his 'straying', TG has been guilty of exactly the same in his lack of Christianity in the way he dealt with it. N was just told to leave and by all accounts, not even given an accurate reason why. Even a murderer would be given more rights. The man's in pieces, my sister spoke to him at length.
Plus ca change. There's a hierarchy of sins in the meetings. High heels is much more serious than a bit of dodgy filling in of tax returns and keeping quiet about a few delicate financial issues. Ah, that's theft isn't it? I thought that was one of the Commandments? Hmmm

The sins are ranked by order of visibility. High heels can be seen from 20 paces whereas your tax form (or at least the detail contained therein) cannot. Where does "wasting time playing farmville" fit on the sin scale? What about "over-eating at potluck"? just curious, fs

Perhaps they might be thinking you are trying to cloud or downplay the hypocrisy here between the illegal and the silly man made requirements. Of course, I understand that is not your purpose but you can see how others might view it.

Does Tom have a successor? How much longer will he be around? I'm not sure what age Tommie is but he was shipped home from Barbados early in '92 and he wasn't a young man then. I've heard it was a toss-up between Gamble and Harold McKnight who was also in the West Indies at the time. McKnight is now back in Ireland and the chap was being groomed as successor to Gamble (Alan Beggs) is now in charge in the West Indies. Craig Fulton is currently being groomed for that position (helping Tommie, it's called), so long as he doesn't clear off to the WI too. Can't say I blame them...the weather, y'know? I thought John Johnston was Tommie's right-hand man. Has he been sidelined?

If George Carlin hadn't moved his stand-up routine to a distant venue, I'd tell him to work that in..it's better than denoted.

Here is a response I was asked to post on this thread. I got this by email today: When I heard that a worker had been dismissed from the work in Ireland, I didn’t even have to read the thread to know who it likely was. The only marvel in my mind is why it took so long for it to happen.
A few facts: The winq has sooner or later become persona non grata in every place he’s ever been in the work. In spite of seemingly endless zeal to share the message with new listeners, and a way of winning people to himself very quickly, everyone we know who has worked with him for any length of time has come to the conclusion that the man is certifiably insane. He manages to get people to confide in him and share themselves with him on many levels, but if he ever turns against someone – which generally happens sooner or later – ruthlessly uses the information against them to tear them down.
People may like to think that it is a liberal vs. conservative clash in Ireland, but the simple truth is that the winq cannot tolerate anyone being in a position of authority of him. Regardless of what position an overseer might take, whether liberal or conservative, the winq would cheerfully take the opposite position in order to win followers for himself and against the overseer – or for that matter, any worker or other person who would seem to be a challenge to him gaining admirers for himself.
I’m not necessarily a fan of what I’ve heard about the current administration in Ireland, but I have to say that if Mr. Gamble is allowing people to think that the winq is leaving because of health issues, he is showing a great deal of kindness and restraint in doing so, instead of revealing the actual problems and making public the deep-seated problems the winq has carried around within himself that have ended up generating difficulties and divisions wherever he has gone.
Surprised at you Scott, unless you have first hand knowledge of xxxxx that you would post such stuff. At least let the person post their own opinion if they can support it!

Surprised at you Scott, unless you have first hand knowledge of xxxxx that you would post such stuff. At least let the person post their own opinion if they can support it! Also surprised, I'm sure he has hurt some, can any of us on here claim to have never hurt anyone in our walking out of our lives and our faiths? Despite his imperfections as a human being. Worker in Question has been such a healing influence in my life since I left the meetings and became a christian and helped me be able to let go of my bitterness and be able to love those in the meeting. I have a deep spiritual love and respect for him. Sure he is not perfect, he like us all needs grace for the journey, he is moving along on his journey with the Father, talking to Him and working things out, he is unafraid to ask the hard questions, yet in love with the Lord enough to be satisfied in Jesus when he doesn't have all the answers. He was the ONLY worker to embrace me as a sister in Christ after I left the meetings - going out of his way to come and speak words of encouragement over me in the presence of my family - who at that time were rejecting my faith. He was used powefully by the Holy Spirit in bringing healing and acceptance of my faith into my family. I am so grateful to him for being open minded enough to allow GOd to use him in this way. My family would only have trusted a workers opinion at this time. He has been used to set them free from some of the legalism that is so prevelant in irish meetings He was the only worker to tell my parents the truth about the history of the meetings, they completely denyed it when I told them, said I was listening to lies. He knew that the origins of the meetings was not that important - it was the lie behind it that was hurtful. So he didn't try to conceal it. He was the ONLY professing person to stand up for me when I became a christian after leaving the meeting and say "listen to her - she has something to say, don't reject her just because she doesn't profess anymore", he listened and we talked ,he encouraged my questions and my learning more. I learned to love and accept the meetings despite having been so hurt by them because he first reached out to me, showed me that people are people and we can't white wash everyone under the same label. He has his own issues like us all that he needs to work through, his own healing to go through. He is outspoken and does say things out of turn, but in that there too is his own unique charm and the Father loves and uses our diversity. Worker in Question is imperfect and yet spiritually beautiful in that inperfection. Bold and radical he dives deep, is unfraid of loving those who think outside of what he has always been told is "the only way". He is unafraid of being wrong so he keeps seeking answer not standing static thinking he has got it all right and "nailed it". He did not like not being able to preach things that Jesus taught because those in higher authority that him asked him not to eg: fasting. I admire him, and feel sorry for the meetings for having lost him. They will miss out but others will gain from their misfortune as he goes on pilgrimaging with the Father and touching lives. I love to listen to him speak about the Lord and share what he has been learning from talking to catholic priests and reading the Koran. He is a breath of fresh air.

At least let the person post their own opinion if they can support it!Don't be too surprised. I stated that it was something I was asked to post, and I have done so on several occasions. Occasionally the posts do not line up with what I might personally believe to be true. Normally, if I post something for someone else it simply means that they are a 'reader' and not registered on the board. (plus read the following concerning this) hope, Also surprised, I'm sure he has hurt some, can any of us on here claim to have never hurt anyone in our walking out of our lives and our faiths? The post I made was by email request as I stated. The thoughts were not mine, and no I have no personal knowledge of this worker. BUT.... Without me posting what I did, it is quite possible that we wouldn't have gotten to read your thoughts about the worker. Posts such as yours are needed here on the board to provide us with glimpses of the goodness that we all have experienced in our lives. Thanks for sharing. Scott

Hey scott,
I do appreciate that, you are such an encourager of many on here that is why I was surprised.
I understand that you want to bring another opinion to the table, you are incredibly balanced in your discussions and I suppose that is what you were doing here. But in cases where is it discussing someone's character and dissecting their ministry and what they've poured their life into... I think its often best that we judge from our own experience of that person rather than pass along word of mouth, especially negative. Opinions on people are rarely objective.
What your friend asked you to post is not wrong, its his/her experience, its valid. They sound like they are speaking from a heart of having been hurt by the WINQ.
But my experience of him is also valid... yet they would seem like they have been written about a different person. We are all filled with good and evil, and so in daily life and our encounters with others we reflect both our divine nature (Jesus in us) and our evil nature (that is being purified). John spoke about a baptism of fire and the Holy Spirit that burns up the tares in our field.
Not only that but Jesus pleaded with the Father to unite us... I think that is in our hands, Father is wanting to transform our hearts so we can unite, once we can accept that we are all still working things out, and we extend grace to each other for the journey then we can celebrate each others victories and the valuable qualities we have to share, rather than be so hard on eachother in our defeats - after all that simply joins in with the enemy's condemnation of the saints.
with love Hope

Jesus was chased out of town and had to disappear one time, at least once. The fact that a worker is not listed as a worker does not make him or her any less a worker for God. God sees things differently and time will tell the good achieved beyond the list!
Unfortunately God also sees the damage done to people as well and knows who is responsible.
Here's to the great encouragement that this ACE worker has been and will continue to be in spite of misunderstandings etc. Who knows what is accomplished in the place of prayer? Yes, Prayer by saints and sinners, workers and reject workers, workers who continue to work in spite of opinions and judgments.................. workers who work for the unity of ALL Christians ans God Fearing people the world over. Here's to Love undying.

So, reading the letter by the annonymous author I am at a loss.
First the author states that everyone who has worked with the winq is of the opinion that he is certifiably insane. Okay?
Then a couple of paragraphs later, he/she says, "I have to say that if Mr Gamble is allowing people to think that the winq is leaving because of health issues, he is showing a great deal of kindness and restraint in doing so...."
Insanity is not a health issue? I guess oor Tammie got that one wrong then?

Total clap trap! Why would such news have been kept all these years to surface now? Like those who post rubbish written by others, this "latest news" is suspect.
Thise who knew this worker when he was in S America know just how ridiculous this libelous invention is.

I presume he's just off the workers list - still a fully paid-up member of the church, so to speak ? What exactly is a "fully paid up member" in terms of a 2x2 minister? Who paid what?
