Ran, as much as I like that thought that God created the Light, Jesus, I really think that it was natural light that was created as written in Gen. 1. But you can prove me worng. I'll listen!

Good thinking, Ran, and light being eternal was there before the earth was created - it was there with God. Eternity isn't just from here on forever - it's from ever before to forever
The eternal life that was the eternal light. John came bearing witness of that light that was to come (to earth) but the light already existed in Heaven with God.
just a friendly tip, try not to start separate threads when dealing with the same question - keep on with the same thread you had started !

the same thread you had started ! Well, I can't find the other thread, and don't want to lose this thought while I am looking for it. I bumped up that thread on the main board, "To worker one, question""

If Jesus is that true Light, the one that shineth in darkness, then he came after the heaven and the earth were made, as it says in Genesis chapter one. And if God had not created the heaven and the earth first, Jesus was around before the first man was created. That fits. And the one where Jesus talks about the glory they shared before the world was, that would seem to imply that, but then if the world, flesh, and devil are our enemies, how could we have enemies before we were born? I did not battle get tempted by the things of the world before I was born. I believed, maybe up until now, that the True Light that is spoken of by John is the same light spoken of in Genesis, as they both shine in darkness. We are eternal, also. Our souls, anyway. But our souls were not around 150 years ago. As it says about Adam, man became a living soul. And Genesis clearly states that in the beginning, God made the heaven and the earth, and then said, Let there be Light. Maybe He wanted to see what He had created.. ;D But now that I think of it, it does say that God saw that it was good. If God said, Let there be Light, then obviously Light had a beginning, and was not eternal until it was created, just like us. Even so, either way, it still does not change the fact that Jesus is the Son of God,. This is interesting to discuss, but its really not the most important thing, I know that, too. I am glad that you registered. I can write you now, but at the moment I am sure that your PM inbox is full, so I will wait a while. Yours in Him, Ran Thanks for sharing this, ran. Another way of describing the events of Genisis, is that --God is light, and always has been. Perhaps the light we have is an image of the light God is of, Moses saw God, and the light from him was so glorious, that Moses could not behold him (remember that verse?) In creating the dark universe, God with-held his 'light' until the heavens and earth were created, and then, he said--"Let there be light!'' {in my opinion, God was introducing light to his creation, but /in reality it always has been} It is certainly an interesting subject to think about, for me, anyways, to think about how the light we know came about, through Jesus, the son of God. God did not create himself , as he was the true light, but he did create the first born of creation, which was in his image, of light{understanding}, and we human beings, also posess the image of light/{as understanding} Light has a very interesting double meaning, as does ''see'', [oh I see said the blind man]
