Yes, of course he is the Son of God. He is named as such many times in the gospels and never denied it. He often called God as "my Father." (So when I went looking for references where he said I am the Son of God, I was very surprised to find only ONE!! On the other hand, he refers to himself as Son of man many times.)
Was he a prophet? -- Matthew 13:56-58 And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things? And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house. And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
Matthew 21:10-12 And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this? And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.
John 4:19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.
Thanks for setting me off to an interesting study!!

I have a few questions related to this.
Jesus, being the Son of God, was he a created being? Or did he exist from eternity past with the Father?
Is Jesus, the Son of God, equal in power to God the Father?
Is he of the same "substance" as the Father?
He is the "Son of God", but is he, "God the Son"?
Thank you for your help!

The Bible says that Jesus is God's "only begotten son." He was born as a child to a human mother, so I would say he was created. So Jesus, in the form of a man, did not always exist, but as Son of God, he did and does.
Jesus, while he was a man on earth was not the same substance as the Father, who is described as "spirit". Now that he is again in heaven, as the Son of God, he is the same substance.
I prefer to think of him as the Son of God, because there is nowhere in the Bible that says he is God the Son.
Hope this is clear enough to make sense to you!
