Let's get the conversation going!
If you are single, what qualities and traits do you seek in a candidate for courtship and marriage?
If you've married, what advice would you give singles on this topic?

I am looking for someone that is fully committed to God and puts Him first in the daily living.
There are many other things but this is primary. After that I think I need to leave it up to God to guide me in the final choice.

Looks like a seventh grade dance - all the boys and girls are standing next to the wall looking at their feet while a couple chaperones step in and smile.

God is #1 in their life too. I think a good indication of how they really are is to observe them with their parents and other relatives.
As far as looks go, I used to have that a top priority, but now I know better. It is more important to have a beautiful heart and spirit than a cute smile, flawless skin, big breast, and a slim waist.
I'd rather date a girl that can get dirty while communing with God and slop hogs, run a combine, fix fence, gut an elk, scale fish, drive a nail, quote scripture and then likes to get dressed up and treated like a princess too than one who worries about her bun or what the workers would think if they saw her acting like that.
My kind of gal can eat Bologna and cheese sandwiches and be thankful to our savior that we can afford the Bologna.
My kind of gal would treat me the way I deserve to be treated. Like smack me when I belch, yell at me because I tracked mud in the house, remind me of the purpose of the lawn mower in the shed, make me help in the garden, and still cries when I pick her wildflowers for they remind me of her.
to be cont.

If you've married, what advice would you give singles on this topic? Trust your gut feelings. And don't be afraid of taking a chance. If you are afraid to fail or be hurt, then you have predestined yourself to sabotage the relationship. Been there, done that. Go in joy!

Love your reply, tank. I'll take this a little at a time... as I think of things, and I'm not in the market - just offering advice. #1 would always be someone who loves God above all else - yes, even above you. #2 should be a provider - either of funds for the family or making a home more than just a house. #3 should be a good parent, if you want children. For yourself, look for a "best friend", someone you can talk over anything and everything with. These things will get you through the more difficult times when love fades. Yes, it will, but it will come back if you just hang in there. It takes commitment.

She's talking about sex wax, body boards, and boys' boards aka telephone poles or just plain wood. She says they're long. I guess at some point her feet might slip. Scoop, scoop, scoop. Dig that hole.

Hey Girls Gotta another question for you. I got my gal a chicken coop and some conibear traps for Xmas, and to say the least she was not impressed. I want to do something special for her for valentines day, any suggestions as to what I should get her other than flowers and dinner? I sorta have been in the dog house for a while and really want to make things right.

I sorta have been in the dog house for a while and really want to make things right. Maybe the house needs painting? you could get her a big tin of the right colour and a nice new set of paint brushes.. or some fly fishing gear but only if you know some way to keep her quiet for more than 10 minutes. Or 2 tickets to a big game you want to see, only make sure she invites you along ;D Let us know how you make out...
