COONEYITES (TWO BY TWOS) -Jesus inherited Adam's fallen sin nature and did not finish His earthly mission, but they are doing so.
Maybe this is true of Cooneyites, but not of the fellowship I'm in.

The definition on that link is silly really: Jesus inherited Adam's fallen sin nature and did not finish His earthly mission, but they are doing so.Kind of a smarty pants dismissal you'd get from a bitter ex. The Cooneyites aren't much different from our 2x2 church except they don't have a ministry class.

Jesus referred to himself often as the son of man, yet many today seem to downplay his humanity.
Salvation is about an ongoing relationship, and we all know a one-sided relationship doesn't work.
Yes, Jesus paid redemption's price for us, but our love for him indicates whether we have accepted it.
An academic acceptance of Christ-theory is not salvation.
BTW, I've never known F&Ws to have the notion that Jesus was "just a man". He was both son of God and son of man and was with God before the foundation of the world.

I realize now posting that website wasn't helpful- so I went ahead and deleted my posts. It's not accurate as others have pointed out. Thanks!

Jesus referred to himself often as the son of man, yet many today seem to downplay his humanity. In the Old Testament God uses the term "son of man/son of Adam" to refer to ordinary human beings. Jesus uses this term to clearly repudiate any claims of being the Messiah.

I was brought up 2x2. Even though I never did profess I learned that other denominations were counterfeit. 2x2ism was the only true form of Christianity. I don't believe that now, and I don't believe in a one true church. What's more, I don't believe that there is such a thing as a one true religion. Religions are man-made attempts to make a connection to God. There's nothing wrong with that, but Man gets carried away sometimes and tries to make claims as to their particular faith being the one & only true faith. That's a sure promise of trouble.
