Edgar appears to have either been banned or un-registered.
Was it the pacifist / memorial day / war issue that caused this?
Has he joined the Lloyd club?

Pablo, Edgar has done nothing wrong, for pete's sake!!! PMB is not church, it is a message board, one where, lately, there has been a distinct decline in intelligent discourse. I doubt that Edgar will miss anything about it.

Yes please come back Edgar we need your voice of reason:) When Mr. Massey accused the United States of deliberately targeting innocent children with bombs, he forfeited any claim to the title of "voice of reason".

Yes please come back Edgar we need your voice of reason:) Blessings, Misty I'm sorry to interject, but Mr Massey did not often write in a very reasonable manner. The classic example was when Mr Massey asserted that those of us who hold to the doctrine of sola scriptura are on the same functional level as those who worshipped the Golden Calf at the foot of Mount Sinai, and anyone who considers what theologians have to say regarding the scripture are opposed to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Those of us who maintain the sanctity and permanance of the marriage union were considered "legalists" by Mr Massey, and, in his eyes, fundamentally opposed to the grace of the Holy Spirit.

Maybe the admin guys might want to consider moving this thread to the "Death Notices" area.
It seems as though this is his TMB eulogy.

There are very few people on this message board that I have no respect for, and Edgar is certainly not one of them. I understand why he would want to take a break, and I hope he comes back when he's ready.

Here's my eulogy: Whenever I think of Edgar, I will forever think of .....adverb! Edgar is very much alive--no need for an eulogy unless you are degrading him also as other posters have. The degradation is in your own mind, I'm quite fond of his adverbs and look forward to them everytime he posts! Lighten up, it was meant to be a fun post!

I see no evidence of hatred on this thread, or any other. I did once. However, as time has gone on, I have begun to recognise that imputing motives to people - or emotions - is not at all helpful. You may end up engaging in "I'm more Christian than you" routine - we are all God's handiwork.
Let's leave these comments about "hate" etc. where they belong: in the playgrounds of our childhoods.

The evidence of hate in some posters on TMB is appalling and not Christ-like at all, but yet it comes from people who consider themselves God's elite. I'm not sure if this statement was directed at me. If it was, the "hate" mentioned above is more imaginary than real since it is not hateful to point out when unreasonable statements have been made. Accordingly, if you make unreasonable statements you are not the voice of reason.

Edgar was a controversial figure, unafraid of voicing his opinions. He will be missed.
Jesus wept. The f&w's were astonished, and said "Look, how he loved him!" Then did Jesus stand at the tomb and cry aloud, "Edgar, come out!"

Clay he was right about the U.S Bombing children . Who do you think was working in the factory's during the war? Clay wrote When Mr. Massey accused the United States of deliberately targeting innocent children with bombs, he forfeited any claim to the title of "voice of reason". Hiroshima was chosen as a candidate because it was populated by workers, and plenty of them. Plenty, that is, of children aged 13 and 14 working in the manufacturing plants. A list of potential targets had Hiroshima at number 1 position. Kyoto, a potentially more politically strategic target had been wiped from the list because the US wanted to occupy Japan immediately following the bombings, and they knew that bombing Kyoto would be too nationally sensitive and might stop the Japanese government from submitting to the US. Worse, they might have surrendered to the Russians, instead. The bombs were dropped hastily, in fact the US government was concerned the Japanese might surrender before the US had a chance to test their weapons. Globally, there was a race for supremacy. I’m amazed, now I think about it, that all at the same time every one wanted the grand title of number 1. The Nazis wanted it, Japan wanted it, the Russians wanted it and the US wanted it too. It looks like the US won, but only because they gave Einstein sanctuary from the Germans. There are so many ways World War 2 could have played out, if only small details had been different, or timelines hadn’t intersected each other so exactly. Regardless, the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki ended the race in a shocking climax. tangibleinfo.blogspot.com/2007/08/hiroshima-nagasaki-end-war-myth.html

..and so he speaks from his playground You are a bit of an odd duck, aren't you? My comment was about being positive, and not maing assumptions about other participants' motives. I would have thought someone concerned about "Christ-like" behaviour would have been in favour of it.

Clay he was right about the U.S Bombing children . Who do you think was working in the factory's during the war? I was actually referring to the current "War on Terror" since that was what seemed to offend Mr. Massey so much. The decision to bomb Hiroshima and Nagasaki must have been an agonizing one. Unless you can provide evidence that these targets were chosen specifically for the purpose of killing small noncombatant children I will dismiss your statement for the nonsense it is.

Voice of reason... oh God help us. Dear "child of god", Your comment regarding the above lacks a genuine Christ-like spirit yet you call yourself a child of God. I hate it when people are so caught up in a title that they forget to fulfil it. Peridot I am sorry for my lack... but I don't find any voice of reason in the posting of E. Hate filled and venomous is not reason. I can understand a person being mistreated and not liking someone very will... but you won't find me attacking him like he does us. I would hate to see what you guys would say about me if I posted using language he uses directed at you. Just voicing my opinion.
