Wow! I thought there would be more posters than that . I know it's not spot on, but it surprises me. The numbers do not represent only the posters. They are in the minority. It is also those who just read. Some people are very active - hundreds of records in 3 months. Many have a single record. The number of unique posters is less than I had expected as well. There were times, in some threads, where a single poster was posting under as many as six names - on all sides of the conversation! I knew it !!!!!!!!! ;D

Ahh yes Jude. I think everyone who has posted on page 2 of this thread so far as posted under various names! I checked my IP though and was not the top IP poster! Has anyone owned up to having that IP yet?

Not that I know of. Have you not chosen a name to post under yet?? To be somewhat honest, I have posted under two other registered names. Although I was saying I knew it about the person(s) posting anonymously 6 times in one thread-therefore having a conversation with themselves!!

Have you not chosen a name to post under yet?? I choose to post registered as unregistered without a display name. To be really honest, haven't you also posted unregistered a few times as well? Haven't we all?

Maybe in the beginning. But, I don't mind being held accountable for my opinions expressed on this board. I know that I will sometimes mis-speak. Sometimes-maybe when I have the 'monthly visitor' I may be harsh or judmental. I am NOT above admitting when I am wrong. Which sometimes seems to be alot of the time!!

"To be somewhat honest,"
The implication here is that you are not normally, but on this occasion chose to be and announced that...??

No the implication that I am not honest is not there. The implication is that while I will admit that I have used two other registered names, I will not admit what they were.
Assume....what does that make you and me?

It looks like ella19 is back. All of her posts have showed up on the forums, especially in the sexual cover-up thread.
I wonder if ella19 is the number one poster with the IP address listed above.

Oh, don't feel bad, Jude. I post under other names all the time. I love having a conversation with myself. Makes me feel like I am talking to someone who really understands me. And sometimes I am the only one kind enough or interested enough to talk to me. I get bored easily, as you know.
I even send PMs to myself 'cause I just love getting mail.

Yep, there are people who have multiple personalities on here. I'm not one of them. YES YOU ARE! No I'm not. UH HUH! shut up. No really, I'm not. Btw, if those IPs are just from those who posted in the last three months, then the Indiana ones cant possibly be mine... but I think it's awesome there are a few of y'all who lived right by me when I did live there!

Hello, my name is_____ _______. I live in Auburn, Washington. I have never professed, but was raised in a professing home. Much later in life I married a professing gal (we are divorced....& she is now an X). My parents professed in their 20s, and are still professing...now in their 80's. Hey...it works fine for them...and that's all that matters to me.

i wonder why western canada is much more represented than central or eastern? Where are people from « Thread Started on Dec 6, 2006, 9:05am Alia, perhaps things have changed in the last 2.5 years. This thead (and list) was from 2.5 years ago.
For others trying the same exercise, a number could be posting from the same computer, not just family neither. Are there not some ISP's which can be of public or semi-public use? Also as in the case of ours, visitors have sometimes used our machine to read and post here but not under our names.

Central and Eastern Canadians have trouble keeping their computers warm enough to operate. Western Canadians are close enough to the hemp smoke and heat from the west coast of the US that their air is warmer and are able to keep their computers warm.

I can smell the sweet smell of hemp in the air, and my computer is warm...

As I said it is not 100% accurate. I cut out any locations that did not resolve cleanly. No doubt some people used proxies. There are no AOL users reported since they would all say USA - VA. The data is from about a 3 month span (August-October of this year). It is both posters and readers. Some of the locations represent many posters. Again, the location is whatever the ISP is willing to report. Some are general, some are specific. The most interesting thing about the exercise was to see the difference in tone of the posts from the same person posting first as registered and then as an unregistered guest. Additional information: The top visitor/poster for the time period above has an ip ending in XXX.XX.130.115 To find out if it is you, visit a site like: whatismyip.com/to see your reported IP. During that period there were about 2740 unique IPs I am one of the AOL users that you mentioned. I am in Yorba Linda, California E

The most interesting thing about the exercise was to see the difference in tone of the posts from the same person posting first as registered and then as an unregistered guest.Keep in mind that you dont know exactly what is going on in some households. For example my spouse is registered and posts quite openly... and I am not registered and post anonymously. And you would expect to get a different tone from each of us... we are different people! That has also been the case from our house on a number of occasions....two people on the same computer, or the same location using one of the other computers in our network. E
