Ruth Lehmann
Ruth A. Lehmann, age 100, died Friday, June 27, 2008, at Baldwin Care Center in Baldwin.
Ruth was born in the town of Salem, rural Pierce County. She was the daughter of Marcus and Florence (Stevens) Gore. Ruth married Arnold C. Lehmann on Jan. 9, 1932. After marriage, they farmed in Pierce and Dunn counties. After Arnold's death in 1962, Ruth worked as a cook at the University of Wisconsin at Madison until her retirement. After retirement, she moved to Eau Claire. She moved to rural Woodville from 1972 to 1984 before returning to Eau Claire. For the past three years, Ruth had been a resident of Baldwin Care Center.
Ruth is survived by her children, Elinor (James) Nelson of Woodville, Alvin (Mary) Lehmann of Eau Claire, Catherine (Dale) Southard of Eau Claire and Rose Acheson of Richmond, Va.; 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arnold; son, Arthur; one brother, Delbert Gore; and two sisters, Margaret Carlson and Florence Wood.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 3, 2008, at Holiday Manor Conference Center in Menomonie. Charles Thain, Stanley March and Terry Ault will officiate. Burial will be in Lower Weston Cemetery in the town of Weston.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Rhiel Funeral Home in Menomonie, and at the conference center on Thursday one hour prior to the service.
