I didn't realize this board even existed until just now. I've no idea what made me poke around and come upon it. Interesting to find it and perhaps others will think so as well when they know about it. Administratior, did you announce it somewhere? Perhaps you could send a message to all the registereds.

Ya...my wife and I saw this board for the first time also. Maybe it would be a good Idea to post something on the other boards about this one.
It would be nice to be able to deal with those who are willing to be open about who they are and not hide behind anonymous post names:)

Hi, everybody. I have been posting as a guest for some weeks now under another nic. No doubt you will guess who I really am in due course.

just testing how to quote better
How do you get it to quote with info about who quoted it without cuting and pasting all of the info? like the one inatent did above
and how do you know what # the post is?

Do you mean like this, Kathy? If so the answer is quite simple...simply use the quote feature in the upper righthand corner of every post...
You can delete any part of the message you wish.
The posts are numbered as reply #'s right below the subject/topic line.

Hello, Dolly, ...well hello, Dolly! Smiles, as I began to answer your question the tune popped into my mind....
Color is a separate thing from copying. The right "flags" as they are most often called, are necessary to create separately to make certain the intended colors carry through in the copied portion.
Each flag must have a [/xxx] closing flag. EZ codes are used in this forum where using HTML codes do not work normally. EZ codes are limited, and also differ in that they use [ ] whereas HTML requires < >.
So, to make this turn to a different color, first one must use "/color" between the [ ] as the end "color=maroon" flag used here. Then a new color flag, such as "color=blue" between the [ ]'s must be created, i.e. in the way this is now blue.
To end the color, it must be folowed with a "/color" flag. The word "color" not the light description itself. .Then, unless another color=description flag is given, only black will appear.
Clear as mud? However it is not anything mysterious, merely tricky in ONLY using carefully defined information that requires learning for proficiency Hence the EZ codes--which some will attest are not really easy at all but are like learning a very simple dialect of another spoken language.
Now to the second of your questions... It seems to me that non-registered readers can read here, just not post. I've been able to read here from machines other than my own, where I have neither logged in nor otherwise identified myself to this message board. Also, when I am not logged in but using my own machine, I can read here. These two "green" conditions cause me to perceive the answer I give you.
I'm sorry to have gone so long without responding to your question. Kindest regards,
dennisj

Okay - I'm giving it a try - that's how I was doing it but I couldn't seem to get it to list who I quoted from.
Here goes!

I can't seem to get this part of the quote to work Hi again, Kathy...
Each text box on the same level as our names and title, also has a "quote" function over on the right. If one clicks on that (rather than on "reply" using the ez-code quote above where we type) one gets the details of whom they are quoting listed in that desired manner...

Hi Alexander,
You can send an individual message if that person has opted to add it to their profile. You just click on it and you will see a message box - they will then see at the top of the site an area where they will know that they have a message (s).
It should look like this:
"Hey, hinds1985, you have 6 messages, 0 are new."

Greg, How can we get to the box that allows us to highlight quotes and use different fonts? Since I registered, when I "post rel\ply" it immediately posts me without the opportunity to add change of color or font.
Help?

Don't use the quick reply box at the bottom of the screen. Just under the last post on the right side of the screen click the reply link.

This board doesn't seem to be taking off for some reason. When a requirement is put in place to be registered in order to post, it's my opinion the administrator has extra work to do to keep it going... such as posting interesting & thought provoking questions that inspire responses and opinions of the readers. And I'll bet that you don't have that kind of time! (I know I wouldn't!) On the unregistered TMB is there are a lot of anonymous posters that like to keep things going by posting a one-line provocation that will get lots of response (sensationalism). But they do get the action going! I do think the unregistered TMB is a place for people to post their grieviances anonymously but there is such a lot of garbage and childishness that I get tired of reading. I like coming to the registered sites and would love to see more in-depth discussions. Perhaps the admin could pull together group of 5 or so posters that would kick off some thoughtful discussions? Maybe if you had this board listed above the other board more people would visit here...just for visibility issues...That is why I never realized it was there....
