Reminding you of my post above yours. Paul said if you don't work you shouldn't eat. He also said, 2 Thessalonians 3:8 & 10 – nor did we eat anyone's food without paying for it. On the contrary, we worked night and day, laboring and toiling so that we would not be a burden to any of you. There is no proof that was 365 days a yr...or even more than a few days or anywhere else...... I have to say that reply is really grasping at straws. I'm sure he was invited for supper like anyone else and maybe people gave him some money here and there, but the point is he worked and felt that he should pay his way and not live of the people. The workers do absolutely no work, live in people's homes for months in some cases, take their money as their sole way of buying anything, take their cars and cell phones etc. Very different from what Paul did.

Certainly sounds like you shouldn't eat unless you work and they worked night and day so not to be a burden on anyone, means just that to most people. Doesn't sound just a few days to me or to most people. The last time I was in a gospel meeting was 50+ years ago. On this subject the workers preached referencing Luke 10:7 & John 10:11-13 Luke 10:7 And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.John 10:11-13 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. They preached, the wages for preaching the gospel is food and drink; "eating and drinking such things as they give".
They preached, false preacher preach for money, and are hirelings, as described in John (above).
What they did not preach on was the last sentence in Luke 10:7 "Go not from house to house."
Sounds like they aren't even getting the 'living off the friends right' then. They go from friends house to friends house. However, John gives them justification for not protecting the children being 'hirelings' and all.

To me, the word hireling speaks more to the character of the person and not how they receive money in order for them to be in a ministry.
Some workers have shown themselves to be hirelings, and some priests and pastors to not be hirelings.

To me, hireling is about the character of the person and not what they receive monetary wise. I understood that word as in the ordinary meaning; "a person who works purely for material reward". This fits in context. I'm not sure of the present 2x2 "revelations or preachings" on these verses. The interpretation of "Go not from house to house", would be particularly interesting.

With what has been revealed since March I have figured out that those that give the most may have the most to hide. That seems to be the case with the dude down the road from me.
