To quote my truther father, people who accuse the workers of CSA have become “bitter.” I’ve corrected my father many times on this matter but he just won’t get it. This is nothing but an ad hominem attack that workers love to use that does absolutely nothing to disprove the accusations of CSA (but they think they do). Yet he still claims my attitude has been corrupted by these “bitter” people. So it's only "bitter" people who care about the fellowship's children being abused and sister workers being raped?

No, none of it happened (according to him). Bitter people make it up.

That is so frustrating for you, and sad that the brainwashing has been so effective. How does he explain the cases where the judicial system has found the perpetrator guilty, or the perpetrator has admitted it?

It seems that legal action and media publicity will be required to purge sexual crimes from the fellowship.

A worker during Preps, when faced up with his CSA deeds by private investigators, admitted it, and his paedophilia, going back many years. Initially he put on quite a show of thanking the PI's for their work, until they went for the jugular.

The most common way to deny a message is to attack the messenger. This protects the recipient from information they do not want to hear and process. Often the harder you try, the greater the resistance. Prima facie evidence is rejected without consideration. Keep in mind the implications for the recipient. What is coming out demands radical changes that those embedded in the system are extremely reluctant to face up to. No way can the current/traditional set up continue if the reality of the complaints is true. The only way to defend oneself against the truth of the allegations, etc., is to staunchly take the position it is all lies. That is what we are up against. Circling the wagons is the name of the game.

I know his first demand would be to know where I got them from in which case I would point him to this board. He’s so indoctrinated that he could not live without having “the truth.” Given that he’s already depressed as it is and it is the one thing that gives him hope and meaning in life I don’t actually want to be responsible for him losing his faith. To him the workers are above reproach and finding out otherwise may lead to total disillusionment. Like is stated in A Few Good Men some people cannot handle the truth.

Totally get where you're coming from. Sadly the depression may be because he is in the meetings. The message at Glen Valley was pretty hard to listen to. But I understand why you would not want to be responsible for pushing him over the edge. It's just not worth it if that is their reason for living so to speak. I wouldn't push it either. I am a little surprised that he hasn't received any of the emails that are apparently being sent out by the workers to the elders and friends. I guess it's not as widespread as they want us to think.

My dad is a hermit and he does his utmost to avoid material that might challenge his faith. Most of the news in the truth he gets from the friends in his area who share it with him. I feel like the friends in his area may not share the material with him out of fear he might lose his faith.
