A lady mentioned on facebook about sitting in the Washinton DC airport and listening to the call in number for gospel meetings in her area. Is this widespread? When some of the older ones have passed on, will they start relying on technology to spread the gospel like other groups? This person lives in Iowa, by the way.

Was this call for instructions on where the gospel meeting was, or was it for the actual sermon(s)?

In 30 years, I believe gospel meetings will be by skype or something similar. They may keep the Sunday morning meeting in the home. But they don't have the manpower to get around to all the towns in their field. And the saints aren't going to go long distances anymore like the older generation. It's just a matter of time.

Technology can never spread the Gospel the Holy Spirit does that, unless of course if the Holy Spirit is not involved who knows.

Some objected to the use of intercoms in large gatherings using the same reasoning. One older brother is quoted as saying that "intercoms are of the devil".

Speak stay away from Spirits, it does tend to wreck the brain. Workers love technology, look at the way they accepted Laptops and Smart Phones. As Gill said it is just a matter of time. Time changes everything, nothing stays the same.

Didn't seem to cross his mind that the only possible "devil" in the tent was the loss of hearing of many older people!

Do you not think the Holy Spirit can speak to people through technology? Never known it. Why would the Holy Spirit need technology? To spread the word. Do you think that hearing someone preaching is any different from hearing the sermon over an intercom or on podcast? Or written down for that matter? All ways of spreading the same message.

Never known it. Why would the Holy Spirit need technology? To spread the word. Do you think that hearing someone preaching is any different from hearing the sermon over an intercom or on podcast? Or written down for that matter? All ways of spreading the same message. The Holy Spirit does not come by preaching, believing comes by preaching, The Holy Spirit comes by believing. How did The Holy Spirit come before technology? If it wasn't needed the why would it be needed now. God is a Spirit why would He need mans devices? The way you say it it is as if God is reliant on mans devices to spread the word.

I wonder if skype will replace gospel meetings...too hard to rent a facility, too expensive, friends aging, and the fields are getting larger.

Without technology, you wouldn't have a bible. So God wrote on stone using mans technology? Are you reading a stone-inscribed bible?
As I said, without technology, YOU would not have a bible.

I don’t believe the Holy Spirit needs technology. But man can use it to get to learn about the God of heaven, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Then faith is given then the Holy Spirit moves where he needs to be, without technology.

So how would you get to read what was written in stone way back. ? Ummmmm I wonder how it has gotten from the Holy Spirit to what was written? So that leads one to the question …So why have a tangible bible to read Speak? Might save a lot of dogma outdoing one another on here, don’t you think? You could get on and have your own personal relationship with God ( if you believe).,and then no one could say “you have it wrong”, “you don’t understand “, “nice try but, “bullocks”, “you don’t understand the bible”, “your interpretation is not sound”, “what in the world are you talking about”, “passing on false teachings to others”, “the bible says…”, “ Paul said….. “ etc etc. ( oh I think I got that wrong, in all probability on pro-board it would start dogma about the Holy Spirit)
