You realise the stupidity in this can you want to keep opening. Where will it end?. It's not a excuse it's a fact. We do help. Billions every year. And most of it is wasted. An those same that waste it are more privelaged than you would like to recognize. You want them to either live like us, or like they used to, which is it?. What I am hearing mirrors the same thing that I hear in the US. Our ancestors treated the Natives much the same here.
Yet many people who even claim to be "Christians" today would rather try to ignore what happened and continue to live their lives ignoring anything that they could do to change things NOW.
It is much easier for us to believe that what we could do is just "wasted" anyway. I hear it from people in my own country.
Just money 'wasted ' on poor people; -'wasted' on blacks; -wasted on native Americans, -wasted on immigrants.
Perhaps if we all could actually go to where those people live and walked in their shoes even just a little distance, -we might better understand what it is like.
Canada too. It's not just the US and Australia that whine about supporting the people they took a way of life from. The worst thing we could have ever done was put them on reservations and gave them everything. It's not what they wanted at the time and it was so destructive that we have a people today that are so used to being dependent that it's become their 'way of life'. I don't have any answers but I don't think it ever will be a quick answer that's for sure. Somehow we have to slowly bring them back to being a proud people again that can survive on their own. I am slowly seeing that happen in Canada. I know quite a few because we lived near a reserve and went to school with them. They continue to be our friends as adults. It's been a hard life for some of them, but I have also seen how they have grown and become able to balance their culture and the white world they have to live in. It's really an inspiration in some cases and equally extremely sad in other cases. My brother in law married a girl from a reserve near where they grew up and she had no end of troubles. A beautiful woman that finally took her life last year. It was a real loss to our family. Being unable to help was the hardest thing. Some wounds just never heal and for her that was the truth.

You can't do that. You've taken their culture and their soul and devalued their personhood. No Bob I have not!. Not you personally -- but your culture has.

It does make you feel ashamed that so called civilised people can behave so badly against a less privileged culture. The sad thing is it is still happening, and in this day and age it should not. What right has one human got to destroy another. It is called murder, and should be treated as such.
Near where we live there is a place called Myall Creek. We pass it quite often, the latest being last week. I always feel so sad at that spot, because it is the place where one of the worst massacres of Aborigines took place. It was their land and they were doing no wrong. They did not deserve to die.
Late in the afternoon on Sunday 10th June 1838, a gang of eleven convict and ex-convict stockmen led by a squatter, brutally slaughtered a group of some twenty eight Aboriginal men, women and children who were camped peacefully next to the station huts on the Myall Creek cattle station in northern New South Wales
Despite the fact that the Myall Creek Massacre was just one of the countless massacres that took place right across the country from the earliest days of British settlement in 1788 through to 1928, it stands alone in its historical significance.
It is so significant because it is the only time in Australia’s history that white men were arrested, charged and hanged for the massacre of Aborigines.
Due to the fact that it was so thoroughly investigated and documented at the time, it provides irrefutable documentary evidence of not just this massacre but also of how commonplace such massacres were at the time.

Its wasted if it doesn't have the desired effect. So the answer is to throw more at it??. All it does is enslave people to the government and keep them empoverish. Just because you dont like me saying a lot of money is wasted doesn't not mean it's untrue. Wasting money blindly for a feel good cause isn't compassion its pride. Candice Owens has a pretty good solution for your oppressed people. Father's in the home!. Not throw more money at single moms.

No Snow. I mean if they are so resourceful why do they require some 30+billion every year in welfare?. Why do we have to wait 100 years to see pretty much how good they are was the statement. Okay I'm slowly getting what you're saying. You are dissing them not holding them up as people to be asked how survival in those conditions can be done. Sorry, I am not on your wavelength on that subject. Everything that they had as a way of surviving was pretty much taken by those who were presumably more wise and sophisticated. When you prevent them living in a way that they can still survive, don't complain about reimbursing them for what has been taken from them. And don't underestimate just how much you would likely be grateful to them if you were stuck in the outback with nothing but their knowledge. No I'm not dissing, I never set the benchmark, I dont prevent them from doing anything. I will complain when reimbursement is wasted or is harmful to them, im happy for it to go to those in need. Why is pointing out the obvious waste and harm by throwing more money at the problem is viewed as not compassionate?.

But forcing more money into the single home does what exactly to encourage a family structure?. Im amazed and look up to many single parents by what they can achieve on their own and with financial support which I support. But the stats dont lie that a sound loving family structure is the king of compassion and for furthering compassion. Its all in the bible so many readily dismiss. Sins of the father is a great place to start. Ephesians 5 about authority is another. Most just scoff at it though.

In cases where the sires of children can’t stick with them until they’re old enough to care for themselves, need a law they have to undergo some sort of sterilization procedure. That is plain evil! Is it more evil then siring children and then go off and don’t have anything to do in being a real father to them? There’s too many men in this world who love to impregnate women but can’t step up and do that which impregnating women calls for. So if it’s just sex they want, fix them to where they can’t sure any more children. Of course, many on TMB haven’t experienced having a father who lied to himself, his parents and his friends that three children weren’t his , not really. Then by luck of the draw get irrefutable evidence a matter of months before they die, tho they’ve ruined the reputation of those children’s mother and also those children by saying they were bastards!

Like the eugenics movement of the late 19th - early 20th century? I’m not sure about that! This wouldn’t be DNA selective because the dumbo has already procreated, but is not trying to be a father to those children. The law would be just to stop him from procreating any more children. It wouldn’t stop his sex habits but stop the number of children he’s procreated then abandoned.
