Our dear faithful servant Wilfred Goecke passed away last night in the nursing home. We saw him last week and he spoke to us but was so tired and so thin and we both said we wished he could just go in his sleep! He always said we had heaven on earth if we had the Christ within, now he will experience it fully! His joy and optimistic view will be missed but his influence remains! ### RIP WG

Wilfred G. Goecke, 92, Hunter ND, passed away on Nov 14 at the Bethany Home in Fargo ND.
Wilfred was born on Mar 13, 1927 to Fredrick & Agnes Goecke. A year after his Father’s passing in 1948 Wilfred, his mother & brother, Glen, moved from the farm in MO to CO. He worked many years in CO paying off what he called “the national debt” incurred by his father’s lengthy battle with cancer. After completing that task, he felt called to give his life in the ministry, starting in 1965. He greatly enjoyed sharing the gospel freely in CO (1965-’77), WY (’77-’83), NE (’83-’88), ND (’88-2011), WI (’11-‘12) & ND/SD (’12-‘17). When Wilfred’s health failed in 2017, he entered the Good Samaritan Home in Arthur, ND. He received excellent care there, also the past two months in skilled care at Bethany on University in Fargo, ND.
Wilfred is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Bob & sister-in-law, Hazel. He is survived by his brother Glen (Gladys) Goecke, several nieces & nephews, and a host of loving, loyal friends he made in his selfless life of humble service. Wilfred will long be remembered for his kindness, positive attitude and contentment.
