I have lived through 12 presidents and not much really changes. That's half a century. I think a lot has changed -- for the better, actually.

I have lived through 12 presidents and not much really changes. Could it be that you just haven't been paying enough attention?
I can think if a whole lot of things that have happened that has improved considerably.

South Korea went through a stage where it was as corrupt as it could possibly be. This was in part due to the influence of the United States meddling in its politics in a very similar way to how they meddled in Vietnam and had one devious no hoper of president after another. Times have changed in SK. Corruption will now get a president locked up. Trump should take note. I have met many SK people here in NZ. Not one of them has been a Christian. Some have been nominally buddist but when push came to shove they really did not care about religion at all. Turek of course would gloss over the inconsistencies in his argument. In doing so he is very much like the workers and only succeeds in beguiling the gullible.

well after listening to that i could only think of one thing to describe it: Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

I believe that Obama has it right. Even Christians don't agree on doctrine. It is only sensible to have a secular nation that allows each religion to be practiced freely as long as it does no harm. I think that many Christians would not like to live in a nation that is run by literalist Christian doctrine. Diversity comes with making allowances for differences in cultures and beliefs. To force others to believe in a certain religion when there are so many in our world makes no sense and takes away the right of a majority of the population.
