I see other people who say they follow the teachings of Jesus and their words and actions line up with what I read. I can respect that. thats because you have a malformed view of Christ and i have no idea how to fix you from that condition... No, -I can see why you wouldn't have any "idea how to fix anyone" else -wally. Perhaps it would be because you would need to get that beam out of your own eye first?

Here is the bio of the author of you post, gratu, -which I'm not going to re-post that whole biased piece of work again.Robert Bowman Robert M. Bowman Jr. (born 1957) is an American Evangelical Christian theologian specializing in the study of apologetics.
Bowman received the M.A. in Biblical Studies and Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary in 1981, did doctoral studies in Christian Apologetics at Westminster Theological Seminary, and earned his Ph.D in Biblical Studies at the South African Theological Seminary.
From 2006 to 2008 he was the manager of Apologetics and Interfaith Evangelism for the North American Mission Board (based in Alpharetta, Georgia), an agency of the Southern Baptist Convention. Since 2008 he has been the executive director of the Institute for Religious Research, an independent, evangelical nonprofit organization (formerly located in Grand Rapids, now based in Cedar Springs, Michigan).] He is married to wife Cathy with four children'' No doubt Mr. Bowman is probably very, very good at his job, -which is try to prove the bible (in)errant (free of error) to Christian fundamentalists. However, -he lacks considerable knowledge of bible history or the overall history of that area of the world in general.
He may do a good job of reinforcing the beliefs of Christian fundamentalists, - but falls far short of the knowledge of biblical scholars who know the history of the area as well as the bible itself.
“No doubt Mr. Bowman is probably very, very good at his job, -which is try to prove the bible errant to Christian fundamentalists. “ Awwww I nowwww – you're right - Even with all possible education, degrees and all, and the best knowledge and scholarship in regard to "knowledge of bible history or the overall history of that area of the world in general," he would still be unable to even “ try to prove the bible errant, “ much less does he try to do so. He does a fine job of proving the Bible reliable however, as his “whole biased piece of work “ demonstrates. Oops! Thanks, gratu, -for catching my mistake!
Guess I must be getting tired. Maybe I had should quit for the nite.
Thanks again for catching my mistake.

White Conservative Evangelical Christians regularly engage in gaslighting. It is no wonder that they have fallen in step with Trump. They were talking themselves into believing their own "Fake News" long before Trump came along.

like i told matisse being able to read is not gonna help you...understanding will.... I can read very well, Wally. I read the bible before you were born, Wally. I read the bible quite a lot.
This is something that I learned that has stayed with me. 1 John 4:20 20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? 21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
One doesn't have to be a Christian or believe in ANY god to understand that a person should love others as themselves, -to treat others as they would want themselves to be treated.
I have seen some Christians who believe that and act that way towards others. I have also seen atheists who believe that and also act that way towards others.
I have also seen just the opposite in some people who say they are Christians as well as some people who are atheists. People usually give away in which group they fall by telling how they feel about their fellowmen/women.

I think most of us who do know the bible know that nothing in that admonition of how to treat others says anything about "sin" or whether you have the right to judge whether that person has committed a "sin" or not.
As for as that matter how many people agree on just exactly what "sin" consists of?
I notice the idea of what actually constitutes "sin" varies considerable from one Christian doctrine to another, as well by individuals within those multiple churches.

And Wally, I believe that if you are going to call yourself aa CHRISTian it would be better if you stuck with what Jesus taught, which you also believe was the Christ.
Now if you want to believe everything that Paul said, welcome to it, -but remember Paul never met Jesus, -oh I know he was suppose to have in a "vision" but you see, I don't believe the dead can back to anyone in a "vision."
Paul built up a theology of his own.

Again, it's not about us or even what we think of each other. What he does in the video is point out some very serious inconsistencies which you are just ignoring because you are labeling it as ridicule. Shouldn't we be looking at these serious inconsistencies? If it was the Koran and there were inconsistencies, wouldn't you feel that it was important to look into them deeper? Why is it that just because it's the bible, you have no room for skeptical thinking when these kinds of things are pointed out? There are serious problems with the first chapter of Genesis that he is pointing out. Wouldn't be a more useful use of time to address these inconsistencies? You grabbed it too early again - and that tells me that you are on the edge of your chair watching and waiting for me to post - I'm flattered. But now you can go back and read my completed post if you choose - or ignore it - your free choice that leaves me with a smile right round the back of my head - AGAIN. Okay went back and read. When is it ever a waste of time to critically examine things that are legitimate questions about the book you rely on for your beliefs? There are many Gods and I imagine that you critically examine things about other Gods and their books, so why not your own?

We may need to lock them up for the deed, but while they are locked up we should still treat them with love. That's how I see it anyway.

There are many Gods and I imagine that you critically examine things about other Gods and their books, so why not your own? "There are many Gods..." I'm not going to wasre my time hunting for it, but if I recall correctly YOU have claimed that you are an atheist previously -- now you show yourself to be a polytheist - WHAT do you intend to be next week - that is not a question. And THAT is as much of my time I am going to waste replying to yoiurs presently. I am an atheist. But I am a well read atheist and from my reading I have learned that there have been many Gods worshiped over the centuries. All that proves is that mankind has a propensity for inventing many Gods and making those Gods believe what they believe. Can you tell me why your God is any different from any other God that has existed in mankind's minds?

If you're a Christian you will have the bible on your table. If you're a Muslim you'll have a Koran on your table. If you're a Hindu you will have a Bhagavad Gita on your table. If you have all three on your table, you're likely an atheist

Just in case the hours of videos lull you to sleep snow, here is a link to the Seminary lessons on which page you can download the lessons in text so you can become a well read atheist. I have highlighted the lesson that answers your question – the text download is a transcript of the video. Do please let us know if and when you become a well read atheist on the topic of how my God is different from all the other gods you think there are. We Believe in God thirdmill.org/seminary/course.asp/vs/godLesson 1: What We Know About God Lesson 2: How God Is DifferentLesson 3: How God Is Like Us Lesson 4: God's Plan and Works Lesson 2 in text fills 31 pages, so you would indeed be well read if you read it through, and you would not need to keep asking believers to tell you how their God is different - you would actually be able to teach believers how their God is different - in great detail. Are you sure he's ok with people posting his plan online? Seems like something you ought to run past him first. Common courtesy.

Thanks again for catching my mistake. I don't think THAT was an error. But maybe you should "quit" your constant practice of nothing better than good ol 2x2 style ad hominem against your 'emenies' - not just "for the nite." I don't see you or anyone else here as an "enemy," gratu.
I am sorry that you see anyone as an "enemy" just because people present their views on his forum.
I had thought that was the reason for such forums.

And if they are wrong and it was all created, what more do you need than "God is different from his creation." (that is not a question). But YOU repeatedly add 'other gods' to the material universe, which is a very interesting situational atheism/polytheism (confusion) depending upon which is convenient to YOU at any given time. But you have my reply to your question over and over again, and I will waste no more time on your question. I guess I haven't been clear. I don't want to know how the Christian God is different from his creation. I want to know why you think he is the correct creator God and not one of the other creator Gods humanity has worshiped? But as you say, you have already addressed this somewhere else, so I guess I will just have my question go unanswered. I'm good with that.

Why DO you think that the Christian god is the only CORRECT god instead of any of the multiple 'other creator Gods humanity has worshiped?"

The question is one of the dummest questions I have ever heard asked of a believer, but I am not going to waste my time writing four hours of answer – not for any of you - and certainly not when I can post links to that detailed ANSWER. Most unbelievers already know that believers believe there is only one God – but snow has to TRY to waste my time answering such stupid question aimed at 'comparing' all her gods to mine – and pound it to death on top of that act, only to be joined by two more of the TMB demolition team – to beat it even more than dead. The only reason that I wasted any of my time answering snow's question was for VISITORS to this board who MIGHT be confused by the TMB demo teams' dum act. Gratu, I think you aren't understanding that there have been many "gods" created though out the history of mankind.
It isn't that snow is "comparing" all of her gods to your god; -as you seem to think.
She was telling you from what we know about the history of humanity is that people have created a multitude gods and actually a few goddesses, -though out their history.
Therefore, in the eons of history Christianity is actually the new the kid on the block, -so why do you or anyone else for that matter -think that the "Christian god is the only CORRECT god instead of any of the multiple 'other creator Gods humanity has worshiped?"

I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour. Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. ear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any. snow - “Can you tell me why your God is any different from any other God ...” ANSWERED Yup. thirdmill.org/seminary/course.asp/vs/apc thirdmill.org/seminary/course.asp/vs/god Lesson 2: How God Is Different download1.thirdmill.org/en/750main64b/WeBelieveInGod.Lesson2.English.mp4 snow latest REPEAT- "I want to know why you think he is the correct creator God and not one of the other creator Gods humanity has worshiped?" REPEATED ANSWER We Believe in God thirdmill.org/seminary/course.asp/vs/god Lesson 2: How God Is Different Now with an added Excerpt here - i.e., Second full sentence in the lesson (snow said "Okay, I read it.." - ah huh ah huh, ah huh gullug-a-lug) James did not write, “You believe that there is one God,” as some translations put it. He literally wrote, “You believe that God is one.” In this way, James confirmed that Deuteronomy 6:4 teaches the oneness, the unity, the simplicity of God. (References; James 2:19 New King James Version (NKJV) 19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!. Deuteronomy 6:4 4 KJV Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: All tolled the videos linked comprise around four hours of DETAILED ANSWER of snow's question - whether ANY of you (including snow) listen or read is up to YOU. But now you got God's ANSWER too - and you can make yourselves atheist/evolutionist/polytheists any time you like, but God said that there is only ONE God -- i.e., there are no other gods - let alone any gods like Him. I don,t believe that the god of the bible exists any more than the thousands of other gods. There is not one part of the bible that would cause me to believe. There are many parts which cause me to disbelieve.
