I don’t think so. What we see is as humans see and that is not often correct. But God judges the inward man. I’m not saying either way but it’s Bob’s place to say it if he believes it but if he doesn’t believe it then it’s an open subject only if he says it is as far as he is concerned! when someone implies christian theology is cunningly devised fables among other things i think we can tell which side of the road they are on. by their fruits shall you know them and all that....new glasses might be the order of the day for you... Wally - do you realize that everything you disagree with about everyone else's insights into Christianity are, in fact, Christian theology?

I might be that we realized that our old glasses were so scratched and smeared with the grim of centuries of passed down inaccurate beliefs that it was time to get different glasses.

Don’t get snide with me! You’ve not paid heed very well. He said “Christian” theology. But he’s studied the Jewish theology OT traditions! Ever entertain he might be coming from that angle? i'm very blunt you know that get use to it.... so are you implying hes jewish? fat chance.... You don’t have to be Jewish to be interested in it’s traditions. He does have close family ties to some Jews. That alone would trigger interest in some people!

No? I have always wondered why they often refer to many Christian theologists as Christian "apologists?"

Don't know who you are addressing as 'dixie", but I have already know what Josh McDowell thinks and I found it to be just more horse feathers.
So, gratu, -you really aren't introducing me to something different from I have already heard & dismissed long ago.
why do people like gratu assume none of us have no prior information on any of these threads and always have to pump the trough with tons of old data like they are going to rehabilitate us? Maybe because they have no clue about all the things that we've studied because they are afraid to venture into that information. It doesn't help you keep blind faith when you actually study what actually happened and how it differs from what the bible says.

"You have already said that you have no interest in this thread." I just checked this thread from top to bottom and see only the post you are responding to as my only post on this subject. And I think my content was spot on. If you can't trust the authors or even know who they were why pay any attention to what they say? And if as I proposed the supposed author could not have witnessed what he claims then even more reason to discount it. I see no difficulty where you propose cause to toss the Bible in your trash can - The accuracy of prophesy lends easy probability that Moses wrote of his own death, along with all the other fulfilled prophesies and creation-history that were revealed to him by God the Holy Spirit. But since you have evidently tossed the whole bible out on such simplistic quibbling, out goes all prophesy in spite of its accuracy throughout human history - while you buy up the cunningly devised fable of evolution - your secular religion\ that ridiculously - even impossibly speculates on everything making itself out of nothing. I find your 'reasoning' very amusing indeed. I'm not sure on what education this fellow has but that is the beauty of his presentation anyone with a grade school education school education should be able to acknowledge his ideas. www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWOaG4Da9iA

I'm not sure on what education this fellow has but that is the beauty of his presentation anyone with a grade school education school education should be able to acknowledge his ideas. www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWOaG4Da9iAWell now, I surely have "a grade school education school education" and am "able to acknowledge his ideas" His presentation starts rig off ridiculing "Christians" --typically carries on as far as I bothered listening to such junk from just another ordinary unbeliever. He would make an excellent 2x2 in his demonstrated performance of thoughtless ridicule - and it matters not a tiny bit WHAT his education level is - education did not teach me to ridicule everything others believe, much less the Bible itself. And if the Bible is as it claims to be, your heeero will pay dearly for all the benefits he gains through his thought-dead ridicule of especially God's word. He is a great example of the type of heeros you pick, intelchips - have you made him your god yet? LOL, I think you have got to be at the top of the list for people who ridicule others that don't agree with everything you say. Instead of just mocking intelchips, why don't you address all the things this video points out that are clearly inaccuracies that don't make a lot of sense. Wound't that be a better approach?

Instead of just mocking intelchips, why don't you address all the things this video points out that are clearly inaccuracies that don't make a lot of sense. Wound't that be a better approach? I don't particularly care WHAT yoiu think of me - but there is a difference between thoughtless ridicule and presentation of hundreds of well thought and undeniable evidences for the reliability of the Bible. But although I have shared very little of my own writing on this board, I have little doubt that you will be able to find 'something' to twist into thoughtless ridicule in the bits I have written on this board thus far. And all you have to do is repeat one such example in several different wordings to come up with enough 'instances' for placing me on top of the ridiculing mob on this board. And I would still reply, "ho hum, big deal." Again, it's not about us or even what we think of each other. What he does in the video is point out some very serious inconsistencies which you are just ignoring because you are labeling it as ridicule. Shouldn't we be looking at these serious inconsistencies? If it was the Koran and there were inconsistencies, wouldn't you feel that it was important to look into them deeper? Why is it that just because it's the bible, you have no room for skeptical thinking when these kinds of things are pointed out? There are serious problems with the first chapter of Genesis that he is pointing out. Wouldn't be a more useful use of time to address these inconsistencies?

Do you have any more links to such junk intelchips. This is another sure sign the rapture of the saints and the tribulation is very near. Many will learn then what the judgment of God is about lAwlessness.

"One question on reliability could be based on was the Bible written by the authors we think we know, or whom we have been told we know. Jews and Christians widely believe that Moses wrote the first five books in the Bible. Have you held this belief? If yes, what is your evidence? I shall take up the pen and chase after this threads question of "is the Bible reliable?"" - &c Typically, I see lots of claims - no proof of claims - Abraham talked about YOU... Here is the bio of the author of you post, gratu, -which I'm not going to re-post that whole biased piece of work again.Robert Bowman Robert M. Bowman Jr. (born 1957) is an American Evangelical Christian theologian specializing in the study of apologetics.
Bowman received the M.A. in Biblical Studies and Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary in 1981, did doctoral studies in Christian Apologetics at Westminster Theological Seminary, and earned his Ph.D in Biblical Studies at the South African Theological Seminary.
From 2006 to 2008 he was the manager of Apologetics and Interfaith Evangelism for the North American Mission Board (based in Alpharetta, Georgia), an agency of the Southern Baptist Convention. Since 2008 he has been the executive director of the Institute for Religious Research, an independent, evangelical nonprofit organization (formerly located in Grand Rapids, now based in Cedar Springs, Michigan).] He is married to wife Cathy with four children'' No doubt Mr. Bowman is probably very, very good at his job, -which is try to prove the bible errant to Christian fundamentalists. However, -he lacks considerable knowledge of bible history or the overall history of that area of the world in general.
He may do a good job of reinforcing the beliefs of Christian fundamentalists, - but falls far short of the knowledge of biblical scholars who know the history of the area as well as the bible itself.
