I have a distinct memory of AB in the home at Texarkana convention reading the newspaper (this would have been in the early 1980s) and pronouncing AIDS as the judgement of God against the "sodomites." He was hardly alone in that, of course. Surveys show that the majority of the Christian ex-2x2s (Evangelicals) would agree with him. His viewpoint is probably actually more uncommon among professing people Pat Robertson would agree with him that's for sure. Look at all the evangelicals claiming that very thing after Katrina ripped through New Orleans! Yet they claim to be a religion of love, mercy and forgiveness. Right....

How many ex-2x2 Christian (Evangelicals) participated in these surveys? Two or was it three? How do you know how they voted?

Arnold Brown was a hardliner. He often preached against the hate mail from the enemies of truth. He told the friends at Yellow Springs to NOT read those letters. He raised his voice and said BURN THOSE LETTERS!! He mentioned a book called Secret Sect. This started my seeking and when the internet came around, I googled SECRET SECT and bam there was VOT. The rest is history.

The ex-2×2 websites and anti 2x2 books are not good for certain professing people and workers who are at the cross road, having struggles with their spiritual lives, doubting about God and His Truth and Way. These exes sites offer and encourage them a way out of the 2x2 group. This is my own observation for the last 40 yrs.

i can't imagine you cross checking anyone snow! haha yes I did some of that of course, but I never had to play defense because I was too small. I was fast so I was able to run around them and under arms to get through to score. I had to be quick because if I actually got cross checked I would fly lol. I had lots of fun though. Lacrosse was the hardest because there isn't as much protection for it. Especially the legs. I used to sport bruises a lot. The way of Lacrosse leads home?

I wasn't allowed to try out for cheerleading growing up. Cheerleading was a way of calling attention to oneself, let alone those short skirts! There were no girl sports when I went to school. Higher education also seemed to be a no-no too. I never understood why, except for some quote about there being no knowledge or wisdom in the grave. Yet my parents held up the children of other profession folks for being doctors and engineers and such. I never understood that.

My parents never encouraged me to take post secondary education, but they weren't against it as long as it was something like teaching or nursing. My father was a teacher so I guess that's why being a teacher was okay.
