Aww, like I tell my honey, you two are still sweet young things to me. I am very sorry, sad in fact, that you have health problems. My Katie is still without most of them, for which I thank my God constantly, and ask Him to let it continue for her! My existence would be unbearable without her. I try to make her life as bearable as possible. Believe I am getting to be a serious drain on her.
Thinking of each one’s kindnesses, very thankful for all of them. Every day I wake up still “here” I wonder (in pain) will this be my last day? Kindest of thoughts to each one...

It's still good to see posts from you, Dennis.

You're not old. You're all just children. Our best friend is 88 and he's got a twinkle in his eye and you don't even see his age for admiring his youth. Bet you're all like that. Children get cranky sometimes. It's a fact of life!🤗😄

"A Letter From Heaven" authored by Alena Hakala Meadows.
When tomorrow starts without me And I'm not there to see; If the sun should rise and find your eyes All filled with tears for me.
I wish so much you wouldn't cry The way you did today; While thinking of the many things We didn't get to say.
I know how much you love me As much as I love you; And each time that you think of me, I know you'll miss me too.
When tomorrow starts without me, Don't think we're far apart For every time you think of me, I'm right here in your heart.

I guess that’s why Jesus has to ask ‘the expert in law’, how he read it. I believe he chose to share the parable to explain the simplicity of what’s important.

A Little Poem, so true it hurts!
Another year has passed And we're all a little older. Last summer felt hotter And winter seems much colder. There was a time not long ago When life was quite a blast. Now I fully understand About 'Living in the Past' We used to go to weddings, Football games and lunches.. Now we go to funeral homes And after-funeral brunches We used to have hangovers, From parties that were gay. Now we suffer body aches And wile the night away. We used to go out dining, And couldn't get our fill. Now we ask for doggie bags, Come home and take a pill.
We used to often travel To places near and far. Now we get sore butts From riding in the car. We used to go to nightclubs And drink a little booze. Now we stay home at night And watch the evening news. That, my friend is how life is, And now my tale is told. So, enjoy each day and live it up... Before you're too damned old!
Thanks Richard

I sit beside the fire and think of all that I have seen of meadow-flowers and butterflies in summers that have been; Of yellow leaves and gossamer in autumns that there were, with morning mist and silver sun and wind upon my hair. I sit beside the fire and think of how the world will be when winter comes without a spring that I shall ever see. For still there are so many things that I have never seen: in every wood in every spring there is a different green. I sit beside the fire and think of people long ago and people who will see a world that I shall never know. But all the while I sit and think of times there were before, I listen for returning feet and voices at the door.

I made a tune for this one. I can only memorize poetry if I add music.

I made a tune for this one. I can only memorize poetry if I add music. I teach my granddaughter sign language using nursery rhymes and songs. The best way to memorize and learn, in my opinion, is to add music and/or rhyme.

"An 87 Year Old College Student Named Rose".
The first day of school our professor introduced himself and challenged us to get to know someone we didn’t already know. I stood up to look around when a gentle hand touched my shoulder. I turned round to find a wrinkled, little old lady beaming up at me with a smile that lit up her entire being. She said, “Hi handsome. My name is Rose. I’m eighty-seven years old. Can I give you a hug?” I laughed and enthusiastically responded, “Of course you may!” and she gave me a giant squeeze. “Why are you in college at such a young, innocent age?” I asked. She jokingly replied, “I’m here to meet a rich husband, get married, and have a couple of kids…” “No seriously,” I asked. I was curious what may have motivated her to be taking on this challenge at her age. “I always dreamed of having a college education and now I’m getting one!” she told me. After class we walked to the student union building and shared a chocolate milkshake. We became instant friends. Every day for the next three months, we would leave class together and talk nonstop. I was always mesmerized listening to this “time machine” as she shared her wisdom and experience with me. Over the course of the year, Rose became a campus icon and she easily made friends wherever she went. She loved to dress up and she reveled in the attention bestowed upon her from the other students. She was living it up. At the end of the semester we invited Rose to speak at our football banquet. I’ll never forget what she taught us. She was introduced and stepped up to the podium. As she began to deliver her prepared speech, she dropped her three by five cards on the floor. Frustrated and a little embarrassed she leaned into the microphone and simply said, “I’m sorry I’m so jittery. I gave up beer for Lent and this whiskey is killing me! I’ll never get my speech back in order so let me just tell you what I know.” As we laughed she cleared her throat and began, “We do not stop playing because we are old; we grow old because we stop playing. There are only four secrets to staying young, being happy, and achieving success. You have to laugh and find humor every day. You’ve got to have a dream. When you lose your dreams, you die. We have so many people walking around who are dead and don’t even know it!There is a huge difference between growing older and growing up. If you are nineteen years old and lie in bed for one full year and don’t do one productive thing, you will turn twenty years old. If I am eighty-seven years old and stay in bed for a year and never do anything I will turn eighty-eight. Anybody can grow older. That doesn’t take any talent or ability. The idea is to grow up by always finding opportunity in change. Have no regrets. The elderly usually don’t have regrets for what we did, but rather for things we did not do. The only people who fear death are those with regrets.” She concluded her speech by courageously singing “The Rose.” She challenged each of us to study the lyrics and live them out in our daily lives. At the year’s end Rose finished the college degree she had begun all those years ago. One week after graduation Rose died peacefully in her sleep. Over two thousand college students attended her funeral in tribute to the wonderful woman who taught by example that it’s never too late to be all you can possibly be .When you finish reading this, please send this peaceful word of advice to your friends and family, they’ll really enjoy it! These words have been passed along in loving memory of ROSE. REMEMBER, GROWING OLDER IS MANDATORY. GROWING UP IS OPTIONAL. We make a Living by what we get, We make a Life by what we give."

Beautiful Redback. I often sit and talk to senior people. I love listening to their experiences, their wisdom and humour.
We used to take a group of little kids to visit and sing in the retirement home. So enjoyed by all. Both age groups had something to give each other. One of my best experiences. A tonic in fact.

Recently, I was diagnosed with A.A.A.D.D. –
Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder.
This is how it manifests: I decide to water my garden. As I turn on the hose in the driveway, I look over at my car and decide it needs washing. As I walk toward the car, I notice bills on the table that I brought up from the post box earlier. I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car. I put my car keys on the table, put the junk mail in the bin under the table, and notice that the can is full. So, I decide to put the bills back on the table and take out the dirt first. But then I think, since I’m going to be near the mailbox when I take out the garbage anyway, I may as well pay the bills first. so I go inside the house to my desk where the computer is and I find the bottle of water I’d been drinking. To get the keyboard first I need to push the water aside so that I don’t accidentally knock it over. The water is getting warm, and I decide to put it in the fridge to keep it cold. As I head toward the kitchen with the water bottle, I see a vase of flowers on the counter they need water. I put the water on the counter and discover my reading glasses that I’ve been searching for all morning. I decide I better put them back on my desk, but first I’m going to water the flowers. I set the glasses back down on the counter, fill a container with water and suddenly spot the TV remote. Someone left it on the kitchen table. I realise that tonight when we go to watch TV, I’ll be looking for the remote, but I won’t remember that it’s on the kitchen table, so I decide to put it back in the lounge where it belongs, but first I’ll water the flowers. I pour some water in the flowers, but quite a bit of it spills on the floor. So, I set the remote back on the table, get some paper towels and wipe up the water Then, I head down the passage trying to remember what I was planning to do. At the end of the day: the car isn’t washed the bills aren’t paid there is a warm bottle of water sitting on the counter the flowers don’t have enough water, I can’t find the remote, I can’t find my glasses, and I don’t remember what I did with the car keys. Then, when I try to figure out why nothing got done today, I’m really baffled because I know I was busy all flipping day, and I’m really tired. I realize this is a serious problem, and I’ll try to get some help for it, but first I’ll check my e-mail…. Do me a favor. Forward this message to everyone you know, because I don’t remember who the hell I’ve sent it to. Don’t laugh — if this isn’t you yet, your day is coming!!

1. "OLD" IS WHEN..... Your sweetie says, "Let's go upstairs and make love," and you answer, "Honey, I can't do both 2. !" OLD" IS WHEN..... Your friends compliment you on your new alligator shoes and you're barefoot. 3. "OLD" IS WHEN..... A sexy babe catches your fancy and your pacemaker opens the garage door. 4. "OLD" IS WHEN..... Going bra-less pulls all the wrinkles out of your face. 5. "OLD" IS WHEN..... You don't care where your spouse goes, just as long as you don't have to go along. 6. "OLD" IS WHEN..... You are cautioned to slow down by the doctor instead of by the police. 7. "OLD" IS WHEN..... "Getting a little action" means I don't need to take any fiber today. 8. "OLD" IS WHEN..... "Getting lucky" means you find your car in the parking lot. 9. "OLD" IS WHEN..... An "all nighter" means not getting up to pee...

Barely the day started and... it's already six in the evening. Barely arrived on Monday and it's already Friday. ... and the month is already over. ... and the year is almost over. ... and already 40, 50 or 60 years of our lives have passed. ... and we realize that we lost our parents, friends. and we realize it's too late to go back... So... Let's try, despite everything, to enjoy the remaining time... Let's keep looking for activities that we like... Let's put some color in our grey... Let's smile at the little things in life that put balm in our hearts. And despite everything, we must continue to enjoy with serenity this time we have left. Let's try to eliminate the afters... I'm doing it after... I'll say after... I'll think about it after... We leave everything for later like ′′ after ′′ is ours. Because what we don't understand is that: Afterwards, the coffee gets cold... afterwards, priorities change... Afterwards, the charm is broken... afterwards, health passes... Afterwards, the kids grow up... Afterwards parents get old... Afterwards, promises are forgotten... afterwards, the day becomes the night... afterwards life ends... And then it's often too late.... So... Let's leave nothing for later... Because still waiting see you later, we can lose the best moments, the best experiences, best friends, the best family... The day is today... The moment is now... We are no longer at the age where we can afford to postpone what needs to be done right away.

As you get older, you’ll realize that a $300 watch and a $30 watch both tell the same time. A Michael Kors wallet and a Forever 21 wallet hold the same amount of money. A $300,000 house and a $100,000 house host the same loneliness. A Ford will also drive you as far as a Bentley. True happiness is not found in materialistic things, it comes from the love and laughter found with each other. Stay humble…the holes dug for us in the ground are all the same size.

Tomorrow I am looking forward to my first meal in a restaurant since the pandemic began. My friends and I have all completed out COVID-19 vaccine routine, and we haven't been able to do this since the pandemic began. The last time we saw each other we drove past each other in a supermarket parking lot and waved to each other -- 10 months ago.
