It is like aging congressmen, some overseers won't step down. Why not turn it over to a younger generation? Do the younger men not want the job? Messrs Thomke , Frandle , Peterson ,Ross, Barkley and others aren't getting younger. You wonder who will run things say 30 years from now.Maybe Florida and NewYork will be on the same staff?

Most those you mentioned are 80 yr. Young or in early 80's. But with healthcare like it is, and workers not typically stressed to the max, their 80s would be like the 60s were for two generations ago.

What else is there for them to do? Go back to being regular workers? If they still have good health they wouldn't want to just sit around waiting to die I'm sure.

Senior overseers have made many enemies within the worker ranks to achieve and stay at that level. The opponents will come at them for revenge if they give up power. So they can't just step away, particularly since most lack a retirement plan to escape.

In many cases, or so it seems to me, when an older overseer dies, the states are combined. They don't seem to want to train middle-aged workers to be overseers anymore. They prefer to just combine states. Ray Huffman is overseer of Virginia Maryland Delaware Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Now think about that for a minute. Aren't there brother workers out there capable of overseeing Virginia and others and other one capable of overseeing Pennsylvania?

Mary Magdalene was looked to by the men in the group according to some gospels. Of course the RCC made sure they never saw the light of day in the bible, but we all know why that would be.
