water skiing was hard for me, weak legs in high school...i wonder though is the upward pull as much as the forward pull with the heli?

Awesome. We used to water ski from the beach in out back yard, but never with a helicopter. Great fun.

Bondy was a really good pilot. I did a couple of fill in jobs for him when he needed a shooter and his main man was away. I had not seen this video until the other day but had heard about it. Unfortunately he flew into the ground whilst out looking for a missing tourist in the dark. He always put the wellbeing of others ahead of himself. For Wally, dunno about the upward pull, there's an enormous anchor on the end of the chain to keep the ski rope down low so that might help. And I am getting a bit creaky in the bone department myself to go try this and report back to you.

I remember when my husband and I went to a cable place for the first time. We almost had the lake to ourselves so we may have over did it... Our legs were fine but neither of us could sit up in bed the next morning.

I've found that persistence is key in getting up out of the water on skis. I think it's more determination than strength. I've never been particularly athletic or muscular...but when waterskiiing, have found that if I prepare myself mentally for a flood of water in my face and brace myself physically to keep my skis in front of my torso, I eventually rise up to the planing position. And then it's smooth sailing. Until you jump the wake. Which is also fun! My sister and I used to double ski - that was fun, too.
