There IS a text called “the Devil’s Bible.” For decades it was in Stockholm, Sweden, but if I recall correctly has been returned to a land of origin. Curious what people think of it here. Likely few even know of it, though I have been aware of it for nearly half a decade. It is enough to make anyone shudder!

I do know, however, that Satanists use the Christian Bible for scripture. I heard a Satanist giving an interview on this topic, and it was really quite fascinating how they understand this. That is, real Satanists. There are a lot of wannabe Satanists and a lot of wannabe Witches around that are nothing more than freaks.

Reminds me of when my daughter stated in class that she was an atheist.
After the all the gasps someone said, "You mean you worship Satan?"
"No," she replied, "Satan is part of your belief system."

Codex Gigas
From Wikipedia,
The Codex Gigas (English: Giant Book) is the largest extant medieval illuminated manuscript in the world, at 92 cm (36 in) long.[1] It is also known as the Devil's Bible because of a very unusual full-page portrait of the devil, and the legend surrounding its creation.
It was created in the early 13th century in the Benedictine monastery of Podlažice in Bohemia (modern Czech Republic). It contains the complete Vulgate Bible as well as other popular works, all written in Latin.
Between the Old and New Testaments are a selection of other popular medieval reference works: Josephus's Antiquities of the Jews and De bello iudaico, Isidore of Seville's encyclopedia Etymologiae, the chronicle of Cosmas of Prague,[2] and medical works; these are an early version of the Ars medicinae compilation of treatises, and two books by Constantine the African.[3]
Eventually finding its way to the imperial library of Rudolf II in Prague, the entire collection was taken as spoils of war by the Swedish in 1648 during the Thirty Years' War, and the manuscript is now preserved at the National Library of Sweden in Stockholm, although it is no longer on display for the general public.[1]
Very large illuminated bibles were a typical feature of Romanesque monastic book production,[4] but even within this group the page-size of the Codex Gigas is exceptional.
But it doesn't sound as if it is anything that would make anyone upset!

there is the satanic bible by lavey also... I'm sure there are hundreds of other Satanic Bibles out there. The only one Christians have to worry about is the Holy Bible … it was written by God.

Is that the one where this god tells people to kill babies? Yes, that Bible. It was interesting to hear the passages in the Bible referring to Satan and their interpretation of them. It doesn't line up with the Christian concept of Satan, but that didn't come about until the early Dark Ages.

It doesn't line up with the Christian concept of Satan, but that didn't come about until the early Dark Ages. I am reading several books at the mo about the period from iron age to Arthurian Britain. The author who is an eminent archaeologist makes the point that there was no dark age after the Romans abandoned Britain. Life carried on with only some changes. The main one being a change from farmers growing grain to growing meat. There also seems to be no evidence to support the idea that hordes of Anglo Saxons came and ravaged the country. Immigration and emigration continued as it had done for the past 500 years at least. Now back to Satan. Why do people believe such foolishness? There is only our bad or good human nature. No one else to blame for being a prick.

All most people ever get to study about history, especially before any living person's memory, are snapshots of times many decades apart that gives the idea that life was all rapid invasions, dramatic takeovers, and anything worthy of a spectacular historical movie. It's the real life details of real life people living their lives through centuries of survival that gets left to the post graduates to discover … the really interesting stuff. It gives me hope that even if the whole economy collapses, what we will most miss is the luxuries of the institutions of an intelligently cooperative and equitable society.

I think that the rot has already set in with education in the USA. Teaching children that dinosaurs and humans lived in the same period is hilarious. It,s also sad and insane. Will u iversities that do not tow the rabid rights line have their funding cut.

That would be too bad if they did cut off funding to universities that didn't teach what the right believes!

You can be sure that some of these private "Christian" colleges/universities concentrate greatly on the quasi-science of proving the literal truth of everything written in the Bible. It's not a place that "non-believers" usually waste their time investigating.

"Why do people believe such Satan? "
I think that it is because they don't want to believe it is there own doing.
They need a scape-goat to blame.

Perry himself said that they teach creationism and evolution in their public schools. 'Gov. Rick Perry helped make it clear that the Texas curriculum standards are meant to allow creationism into the classroom. During the 2012 presidential election, Perry said, “In Texas we teach both creationism and evolution in our public schools.”'

An example of why the US is falling behind in the sciences.
