m.youtube.com/watch?v=nrWMBC6yoME Sent song to my adult daughter , expressing regret , hadn’t “Danced “ more with her , as a young girl , and typical gracious woman she reminded me of all the “dances “ we had and still do , even though a workaholic, Thot your daughters might like it and if parents of young children encourage you to “ dance” with them. Btw - I am NOT really a dancer st all , but you’ll grt the idea Alvin never had much use for dancing....i do like watching women dance though....[/ Understandable , Being raised conservative myself and taught dancing was a sin, a joke was “ why wont mennonites have sex standing up? Well, the danger is , it could lead to dancing “. Lol Scripture speak favourably about dancing for joy and celebration

The Australian Electoral results inspire decent people. "As one Journalist conceded, perhaps you can be a Christian and a Prime Minister at the same time". Magpie

Thanks so much for posting that Slowtosee. Beautiful rendition, wonderful words. Very fitting for a funeral, or indeed anytime.
Christ Is Mine Forevermore
CityAlight
Mine are days that God has numbered I was made to walk with Him Yet I look for worldly treasure And forsake the King of kings But mine is hope in my Redeemer Though I fall, his love is sure For Christ has paid for every failing I am His forevermore Mine are tears in times of sorrow Darkness not yet understood Through the valley I must travel Where I see no earthly good But mine is peace that flows from heaven And the strength in times of need I know my pain will not be wasted Christ completes his work in me Mine are days here as a stranger Pilgrim on a narrow way One with Christ I will encounter Harm and hatred for his name But mine is armour for this battle Strong enough to last the war And he has said he will deliver Safely to the golden shore

Just acquired a Hohnor C & G tremolo 96 key mouth organ, so that means music in my life again. Thinking about going to the park and just playing it to see what might happen. Who knows?

Dennis, good for you getting a Hohnor Harmonica. Oh how that brings back wonderful memories for me. Many 2x2 young men used to have them back in the 1940's and 50's. Never ever heard a 2x2 young lady play one, it was always the blokes. My older Brother and his mate were always playing hymns on them. When they first started they used to use a cup to get the vamp, but as they got better it was their hand. Last December as my Brother was lowered into his grave, a recording of him playing "Home Sweet Home" on his harmonica sounded out. That was a real tear jerker. I also remember a young Worker who stayed with us a lot , was very good on the harmonica. As well he used to play hymns using a gum leaf, not an easy thing to do. A very distinctive sound a bit like this, youtu.be/McmWdYHblXcWould love to hear you Dennis playing that harmonica, put a recording on TMB.

All that family is very musically inclined. She also plays piano, guitar, and violin. I played violin at one time, but I haven't played in years.

Wondering the same thing Enuf. He last logged in, Username: magpie1 Last Online: Jul 31, 2019 at 6:15pm. A bit strange because we both had 80th birthdays, Magpie 16th July, myself 27th July. Did think he would make comment. As you mentioned he had heart surgery a few weeks before his birthday but was back posting after that. See if any of my Victorian friends have heard anything.

This has sorted it out for me, now I know why I sit on the veranda all day.
On the first day, God created the dog and said, "Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. For this, I will give you a life span of twenty years." The dog said, "That's a long time to be barking. How about only ten years and I'll give you back the other ten?"
And God saw it was good.
On the second day, God created the monkey and said, "Entertain people, do tricks, and make them laugh. For this, I'll give you a twenty-year life span."
The monkey said, "Monkey tricks for twenty years? That's a pretty long time to perform. How about I give you back ten like the dog did?"
And God, again saw it was good.
On the third day, God created the cow and said, "You must go into the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer's family. For this, I will give you a life span of sixty years."
The cow said, "That's kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years. How about twenty and I'll give back the other forty?"
And God agreed it was good.
On the fourth day, God created humans and said, "Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life. For this, I'll give you twenty years."
But the human said, "Only twenty years? Could you possibly give me my twenty, the forty the cow gave back, the ten the monkey gave back, and the ten the dog gave back; that makes eighty, okay?"
"Okay," said God, "You asked for it."
So that is why for our first twenty years, we eat, sleep, play and enjoy ourselves.
For the next forty years, we slave in the sun to support our family.
For the next ten years, we do monkey tricks to entertain the grandchildren.
And for the last ten years, we sit on the front porch and bark at everyone.
Life has now been explained to you.
There is no need to thank me for this valuable information.
I'm doing it as a public service.
If you are looking for me I will be on the front porch...

IF TODAY GETS DIFFICULT, REMEMBER: The smell of ocean breeze. The way sunlight bounces off a window. The sweet sound of your favorite person’s laugh. The warm feeling when a song you love comes on. The color of the sky at dusk. And that you’re LOVED and we are here to take care of each other. ♡❥ ~ Nanea Hoffman (slightly modified)
