It will perhaps come as no surprise that there is someone working behind the scenes trying to silence TMB. This has led to some unfortunate hasty deletions, to keep on the right side of ProBoards. Here is an example of one recent 'Warning from ProBoards' received: ProBoards does not permit the posting of harassing comments. Your forum appears to be in violation of this policy. We ask that you please remove all offending content from your forum within 48 hours. Examples of offending content includes but may not be limited to: professing.proboards.com/thread/25685/2017-korean-convention-photoPlease take the time to familiarize yourself with our policies so that there are no issues in the future. Terms of Service: www.proboards.com/tosCommunity Guidelines: www.proboards.com/community_guidelinesIf you have any questions, please contact our Abuse Department at abuse@proboards.com. ProBoards Abuse Department abuse@proboards.com ProBoards admins do not have the time to engage in detailed debate about pros and cons, but simply give a short timeframe to act on their request. I am in the process of establishing a backchannel to ProBoards admins, to prevent any hasty precipitous decisions by them, and to try and discover who is behind the complaining. While we have to keep on the right side of ProBoards, we do not condone these attempts to censor TMB and its posters. And they won't win. Apologies to those whose posts have been casualties, we are trying to establish the means to argue such decisions with ProBoards in future. It hasn't always been possible to PM those concerned, due to time pressures including short deadlines from ProBoards. Thanks for understanding. admin

It would be a real loss if this forum were to disappear. Admin and team, thanks for your efforts and all you do to keep this within the ProBoards guidelines. It's understandable that you may need to take a bit more aggressive approach to moderation (removing posts/threads that are potential violations) until this gets sorted.

Thanks Gene, the difficulty is getting the ProBoards admins to understand what are genuine violations of their terms, and what complaints have other motives. But we're determined TMB is here to stay.

You have a very difficult job here Admin. Delete whatever you need to. TMB is needed. I can imagine it is hard to moderate such a diverse posting public. It will be interesting to find out who has been complaining. Will you be posting who was behind it? I think this forum provides a very needed service to those who are still professing. Where else can you make suggestions for improvement without having to worry about being called a 'fringe bot' to your face. I never once saw a suggestion box at convention or special meetings.

Posting photos is problematic. Not because certain Professing Friends don't like it (strange reaction imo, what is there to hide in Worker pics?) but because of Copyright issues. Here's one legal reference I've found helpful: sarafhawkins.com/copyright-online-photo-etiquette/Grateful for any other advice. admin

Please advise, if you can, what the offending texts are, so we can all play a part in making sure that we are playing within the rules. The forum is important for those in the church to connect with those who have left, and vice versa. Certain subjects raised can also help strengthen individuals where applicable. Shared experiences can be healing for those who have suffered, or are suffering.
I appreciate and applaud your efforts

After giving this some thought, what comes to my mind is the laws that affect public figures ... once a person goes public, such as an actor, politician, or other type celebrity, they are fair game to the observing public. Secondly, the TRUTH MEETINGS BOARD is a public forum, and anyone who publishes here must surely know they are, legally, fair game! (that's in my opinion). They may be scrutinized more severely than others, similar to one politician being scritinized, second-guessed,questioned, commented about -pro or con, and this is simply the risk we take, each and every one of us, when we publish on the TMB. Whoever is complaining should be briefed of the laws as regards publishing publicly. That's my humble opinìon.

Thanks Admin - it's not the first or the last time that people will try to close down discussion about the 2x2 church. The interesting thing is that professing folk publish photos of workers, without their permission, all the time on Facebook. It reminds me of when the 1987 Hymn book was released and a tape was circulated of a US worker singing a number of the hymns. We were told from the platform to burn it, so that a sweet smelling savour would rise to God..... Ther bench seats were rocking up and down that day.... Perhaps senior workers have directed someone to try and close TMB down, to stop their own from posting. We should do all we can to keep it open. A suspicion that complainer likely not a active two by two but someone who dislikes the adverse opinions and experiences of ex two by twos. Sees no need of it, if one doesn't like the two by two church, get out and go your merry way is the attitude I've read a few times. Doesn't see the need of sharing experiences. JMO
