This is not a thread for waging a battle between theists and atheists. Many of my very good friends are not believers. We respect each others beliefs. Personally, I believe in a creator because that is what creation screams at me. Blessings to all, admin

If "God has always taught us to love our neighbour," I wonder why god told Samuel this. 1 Samuel 15:1-23 New International Version (NIV)
15 Samuel said to Saul, “I am the one the Lord sent to anoint you king over his people Israel; so listen now to the message from the Lord.
2 This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘I will punish the Amalekites for what they did to Israel when they waylaid them as they came up from Egypt.
3 Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy all that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.’”
And that's the truth, we are not to spare anyone even our own, we are to put to death sin. But not as you see it with fleshly eyes but with the sword of the spirit which is the word of God. Maryhig, -are you claiming that those people that the "Lord" told Samuel (1 Samuel 15:1-23 ) to have killed were NOT actually "killed" in the "flesh" but only the "spirit?"
