Has anyone else here read Will the Theologians Please Sit Down by David Bercot? i often contemplate reading books about spiritual things other than the bible but then that still small voice tells me not to bother....however this book sounds interesting and sounds like a get back to the basics book....

Why? It's ironic that he dismisses theologians when he actually subscribes to Catholic theologians doctrine.

A man after your own heart, but you don't even know what he believes in. FWIW the church fathers he honors so greatly even admitted that they were deceiving the masses to maintain control. But what else do religious people not want to hear about?

Religious people don't want to hear about anything they've already made up their mind about. It's like "Lord teach me, but don't interfere with anything that I've already figured out".

Are you speaking for yourself? Speaking for myself -- no. I'm not religious, so I don't give a hoot what anyone believes. Hypocrites, though, are real comedy.
