After attending meetings for 20 plus years, I find there are many things that I didn't know about the truth. This board has helped me sort some of that out, along with other research. I would like to know, though, who are the highest ( in the hierarchy) overseers of the US. I have heard there is one for the Eastern states and one for the Western states.

You don't understand. The question wasn't about the bible, it was about Workers. And Yes, Kropp/Walker is a good start - this is not a bible board, it's a Worker board.

Soft answers turneth away wrath, harsh answers provoke/promote confrontations. Let there be peace.

Today, in the information age, it's hard to make that stick. www.jwfacts.com/watchtower/organization.php

Dale S. in the western states...... Barry Barkley eastern states.....
Sometimes there are problems among the workers, senior workers, and within the churches, so they need somebody they can go to for advices and solve the problems (Acts 15)... Just like Peter was the head of the apostle among the apostles who they looked up to. Jesus appointed Peter for such a place, and Paul was the head apostle among the Gentiles believers.
The Holy Spirit is the Overseer of all overseers.... He is in charge and having the final decision of Christ's work on the earth.
Are sure that the HS is the overseer? It seems to me that the overseer in Aus is the head worker with the most dominant personality.

The idea was even sometimes expressed that an "organization" is an artificial construction while the *TRUTH* was a living "ORGANISM".
So much for the clever use of semantics!

Barry Barkley pretty much oversees the eastern states. Under him, Jeff Thayer oversees IN and IL, George Lee oversees Georgia, Richard Gasser oversees Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana, Jerome Frandle oversees Kentucky and Tennessee, and Ray Hoffman oversees Maryland, Virginia and Delaware, Irving Ross oversees Ohio and West Virginia, etc.
Leroy Sanford rules Kansas and NE. Glenn Gasser oversees the Dakotas. George Peterson rules Mizzou and Arkansas....unless things have changed lately.
Dale Shultz, Dean Bruer, Mark Huddle have lost of influence in the western US with Dale at the top.

There is little need for a physical headquarters. When you don't pay income taxes, you don't need a big headquarters. Do the street preachers out there have headquarters? They don't need it. Workers keep stuff at convention grounds. Did you ever see little buildings on many grounds that are never used during convention?

Thanks for the answers. As one said, i should seek my answers from God, which I am doing. Good advice!
In addition to that advice, I would add that I believe it would be wrong for me to blindly participate in a fellowship that I don't fully understand.
I am new to this board, so I'm still learning how to use it...I know some of my questions have probably already been answered many times. thanks for your patience.

Their head quarters are convention grounds which they put many $100,000s in and all gather once a year. It is ok to have head workers but not head quarters? The only churches i know who have heads are the Catholic and Anglican churches. I thought Jesus was the head but apparently they choose head workers. I don't know of other churches having heads as most have Jesus as their head.

Speak, your judgemental questioning only confirms my doubts. Perhaps trying to sort this out, to clarify matters between you two, would have been much better using the PM faciliy; doing it this way is a sure recipe for a slanging match with others joining in. IMO.

I agree that a PM would be the proper avenue for that kind of conversation, if I were interested in having one. However, I find it offensive that Speak feels the need to question my spiritual understanding, when I'm asking questions about the setup of the workers hierarchy. I guess if I can't ask questions openly, then I'd rather not post. I'm not interested in debate....

The Bible says Jesus spoke openly. He hid nothing.
Abuse takes place behind closed doors. Don't expect an answer from a worker, they will try and make out you are the problem. Speak's post is an example of that.

Speak's post is an example of that. This is so sad, this post speaks volumes about the lack of trust for the shepherds within the fellowship, held in low esteem. Something is not sitting right, all is not well in the foal. The time is ripe for a self assessment by those in authority. No one is perfect. Woe unto the shepherds that scatter the flock.

Sometimes one need to sift through some of the opinions here, however the truth always prevail. Sometimes one needs a pretty thick hide too I can so relate to where you are at the moment. Keep searching, there will always be those voices trying to still you just like poor Barthimaeus heard on the wayside when he called out. He received something special, his sight and more things were revealed than what he ever could envisage. Some of those voices thought they were pretty close to Jesus

Dear NathanB, do you mind me asking, why do you not think having the emblems at convention is acceptable? After studying it, it would seem that it is scriptural to do so.
