When experiencing inner turmoil due to the dissonance between the scriptural content delivered by the workers and rationality; I was eager to learn how to reason. What were the techniques and processes which could be applied to differentiate between what is proven and what is fiction or unevidenced. Studying logical analysis, mathematics and critical thinking helped in this way. I continually want and need to learn. We need help to do this so why not accept that? As you have said, you've analysed that there is no God in your own mind. You have come to that conclusion through your own thinking! I have had revelation from God that he exists! And I could never say otherwise. If I turned away I would be denying him. And that would break his heart. Because he had trusted me and showed himself to me. And I love him with all my heart. I am truly blessed! Touch not, taste not, handle not. I have no intention of looking at your videos or reading your literature. Maybe you shouldn't have listened to Satan when he first spun his lies. Now your caught in the web and you can't see!

Jesus is the way, but he did create the way for us to follow. Who else created the way? Only Jesus lived it out fully! And we have to follow him! I'm not sure what your getting at? maryhig, how do you define "the way" ? The word "The Way" or "The Perfect Way" are used often amongst the F&W to mean their way of fellowship ( Workers going out 2x2, meeting in homes etc) or their "group". That is what I meant by Jesus is the way not a group of people who think they are the only way. Oh right, no Jesus is the way, and he created the way for us all to follow.

I think Virgo is saying that Jesus is God That was me who said that, not Virgo. And sorry but you have misinterpreted me. I mean Jesus is the way to follow. I.e his life. That we have to believe in God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength, loving our neighbour as ourselves and take our cross, deny ourselves and follow him. As he lived it out and loved God with his whole heart and gave his life to God until his last breath and endured to the end and he told us that believe to follow him! I believe that we must do this also. But as I said in the other thread, I'm not arguing with you. I've only written this to explain myself.

Really? And this course could be worth your while The Gospels. I'd start with Matthew and make my way through and listen to the teachings of the wisest teacher that walked in flesh, Jesus Christ! Why do you reject learning? We all have read the bible so we have done that already. I sat in Bible studies, Gospel meetings and conventions for 17 years. You think I don't know what's in the Bible. I have read it all. I have even thought about what it all meant. You seem to forget everyone here has once been a Christian, read the bible, believed it was true and meditated on it's meaning. Uh....not sure what you mean by "You seem to forget everyone here has once been a Christian, " Quite a few are still Christians, and some of us actually didn't know we were until after leaving the fellowship. Others such as rational, claim they never have been.

Closing your eyes to everything that doesn't meet up with what you want to believe might work for you, but it isn't the answer for many of us. " Closing your eyes to everything that doesn't meet up with what you want to believe might work for you, but it isn't the answer for many of us. " And again, it isn't what we WANT to believe, it is what we believe based on our own personal convictions. I have no priblem with people who believe differently than me, but rather with those who think I should believe as they do. I don't think I am as stupid or as misguided as some who post here want me to believe. Or maybe I am....LOL.

I don't have a problem with different beliefs either, but I do not think it's necessary to say that people who do like to learn are just 'caught in Satan's web'. Do you? I don't think anyone is stupid Scott. I just want to be accepted for who I am instead of being told I am going to hell, or lost in Satan's web because I choose to learn about the world of science, the way the brain works etc.

I just want to be accepted for who I am instead of being told I am going to hell, or lost in Satan's web because I choose to learn about the world of science, the way the brain works etc. I can see your point, because it sometimes feels like both sides can be a tad condescending towards the other point of view. I find it interesting that Paul never said "touch not, handle not" etc. but instead asked why do you submit to these regulations? (Col 2:20) If with Christ you died to the elemental spirits of the world, why, as if you were still alive in the world, do you submit to regulations— 21 “Do not handle, Do not taste, Do not touch” 22 (referring to things that all perish as they are used)—according to human precepts and teachings? 23 These have indeed an appearance of wisdom in promoting self-made religion and asceticism and severity to the body, but they are of no value in stopping the indulgence of the flesh." I suspect it is a human tendency to look for, and rely on, and dwell on whatever supports our personal convictions. For me, that's the Bible. I've read some of the works by others who propose that Christianity is just an offshoot of pagan religions, etc. and am unconvinced by it--but then I would be, because I am already convinced I have a personal relationship with God through Christ and that through Christ I have all I need. Nonetheless, to call me deluded would not further meaningful dialog with me--any more than saying you are deceived by Satan would with you. Hopefully, this is on target with what you were feeling--it is at least how it struck me that I would feel if the shoe were on the other foot.

I have even told you in the past that i hope you get to heaven. What about us, we who believe have to put up with all sorts of stuff like we have imaginary friends etc. You may have learned that Satan isn't tempting us to do wrong, well that's what you believe, but I'm afraid I don't agree with that. Joanna is actually pushing atheism, saying that we are imagining things and we could be seen as schizophrenics etc and that we are being deceived? And I don't believe all that is necessary either. You must believe what you wish, but that doesn't mean you are definitely right!

Why does it bother you if i don't want to learn about science? The only reason I wrote that about the gospels was because Joanna has said that we could do with going on a course about being deceived? That's an insult to our faith! If you don't believe, so be it. How would you like me to put a post up about you being deceived? And posting videos for atheists to watch? I wouldn't have written that. It was only in response to Joanna's post!

I have not said you said I was going to hell, I said some on here have said it. As for the rest of it, I have never said anything about you hearing voices. Commenting on how I feel about being told what I am told by Christians is hopeless. The implications of posts are that we are just blind and basically have turned our backs on God because we are being deceived by Satan and as some others on here say, nothings. We obviously have never known how to pray right and have never really known God if we no longer believe. Fine. Got it. hberry is correct in her assessment of the whole thing in her post above. Thank you hberry.

Isn't inferring someone listened to "Satan," judging other people? Satan is just another mythical creature that someone had to invent in order to explain why their all loving God couldn't have been the cruel god of the OT, or even the NT at times.

I know you have said Jesus is the way. I agree with all you've said, but what I do believe is that you don't have to be in one religion to follow him. You have to have the right heart, and love God with all your heart and worship God in spirit and in truth. And once you give your heart to God, you belong to Christ. When I said he created the way for all of us to follow, I mean the whole world. And its up to us whether we choose to do so our not!

Just one thing to think on, John 17:21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. clearly that is not the case i am not saying this as our fellowship opposed to all others but others opposed to others but as you know i have mentioned of our kindred spirit
