When you discuss problems or issues with "the Truth" way, people love to then point out problems in other churches. Yes other ways have their problems also but this board focuses on the meetings. When a way claims to be perfect, then they open themselves up to needless criticism. All belief systems have problems and some are worse than the meetings. I personally think the JWs and Mormons are worse than the Truth due in part to the way they treat ex-members. But I spend most of my focus on the meetings because that is the focus of this board. Bert, maybe I should clarify that I don't have a particular church that I glorify or support. My church is those who worship God wherever they want to. I can have church anywhere and not limit it to a building or home.

Home is a building made by human hands.

Did you ever think where Jesus did most of his teaching while he was on earth?

In the temples and out in the open air. Where ever there were people, he went. He didn't hide amongst the few who believed in him. He preached out in the open. He was active in evangelism not spending his days in the comfort of his followers homes. He preached in the temple courts. He said God doesn't dwell in there but he certainly preached in there and the believers went there daily to pray.

He didn't hide behind a nom 'de plum, rebuke others openly, justify himself every time possible, wanting people to review everything without mentioning it? Now, one guy is free to point out every imperfection, being his own God. However neither he nor another posting to this place as so superior to all the rest posting here, qualify as my infinite God.
Yeah, I know. I'm NOT everything I want to be either! I am overweight. I am bald. I am plagued with extreme peripheral neuropathy and arthritis, and border on insanity, too. According to some, it is a good thing I am not a liberal democrat, with my access to guns and all...!? Am reminded of the qualifications according to some that to get into heaven, I must be a flawless " Christian" and by their terms! "And," ONLY by the grace of God will I ever make it, (according to my understanding of my God's terms!)

Of course if you are out visiting 'professing' people for dinner like workers do most nights, Nathan, you would not get home until 8 - 9pm.
I doubt very much that the last supper was held in a private home, it was an inn, where people come and go. A bit like an inn which you can enquire to use. A guest house if you like. You can visit it in Israel if you want to get a better picture of it. It was a huge place.
Believers met in homes in the Bible because they did not have any church building yet. As Christianity grew they started meeting in better meeting places. Remember, God does not dwell in conventions either.

Bert, maybe I should clarify that I don't have a particular church that I glorify or support. My church is those who worship God wherever they want to. I can have church anywhere and not limit it to a building or home. I grew up being reared by a foster family who professed, then left that family while I was 14 years old and ended up being placed with a METHODIST family. I remember how when it came time to go to church that first Sunday there I did NOT want to go. In time I went. It was really hard at first. I compared everything they did or said with the truth; but, I was surprised when I found out the minister's son had been reared by foster families too, and the minister and his wife had adopted Steve; their step-son. My twin brother and I quickly became friends with Steve and we got jobs working together. We rode horses together, and just outright had a lot of fun together. My twin and I went to the minister's home for dinner a few Sundays after church, we stayed over all night at their house, and Steve stayed over at out house, and soon, we adjusted to the Methodist Church, then Steve's step-Dad, the minister, suffered a stroke. They FIRED him while he was in the hospital!!! I could not believe it. It was SO difficult to visit him in the hospital, so sad, to see him cry, to see him worried about where he was going to go, and what he was going to do, etc. They moved away very quickly, and my brother and I lost contact with Steve. I'd give anything to know where he is today. We heard, back when Steve's Dad had that stroke, that his Dad passed away within a year. It was truly so sad. I wonder what the friends would have done if this were a worker who had a stroke? I'm thinking that worker would have been well cared for???

My point was not to argue about buildings. God want to reside in your heart. Fellowship is reliant on the sprite not on the building. Jesus taught others were ever he met them and if he witnessed a honest and open heart to his teachings. The same as to day.
Many people go to meeting all their lives and do not have an honest and open heart that God can dwell in. It is evident by their spirit and their actions toward their fellow man.
