What are some rules you remember concerning convention behavior and etiquette? I am not saying they were all bad.I know I posted a list of Bennett's convention rules in Oregon 1996. Be seated and quiet 15 minutes before each meeting No walking along the lane in front of the grounds Dorms need to be quiet by 10:00 PM and the light will be turned off Please stay seated until those working in the dining shed have left, when the workers on the platform get up you are free to leave the meeting shed Today-Please turn off your cell phones (logical one but probably a fear that some rebellious youth would point one towards the platform, put it on you tube and the video would then go viral. We are having a baptism meeting tonight after the evening meeting, please leave the shed quickly so those considering "taking the step of baptism" could meet with the workers.Everyone else please leave the tent/shed quickly and quietly. No pets on the grounds...this is usually stated on the preps or convention lists. Parents please keep your children under control and supervised at all times in order to preserve the spirit of convention. We have no rules in this Kingdom!

Ah! Me think you missed one, smile: be brief with your testimonies.

Ah! Me think you missed one, smile: be brief with your testimonies. And if you didn't: The overseer who strode off the platform and relieved an old lady (who was a bit long winded) of the microphone while she was in mid sentence. I don't think there was one soul in the shed who didn't cringe with embarrassment.

Andrew Abernethy told my great aunt that "the time was up" when she was testifying at McCordsville IN.

One year Dale Shultz gave a "be brief" warning just after a man testified so I bet he was really embarrassed.

One year Dale Shultz gave a "be brief" warning just after a man testified so I bet he was really embarrassed. One year at convention a gentleman from my church got up to give a testimony and when he started off he said it would be a short one in a matchbox, but he got carried away and went on for a long time and when he finished and sat down, the worker on the platform stood up and said: "well that was a rather large matchbox, be brief now." Most folks including myself had a little giggle, but I suppose my friend was a bit embarrassed.
