You mean like "Good Housekeeping" or "Vogue"? I don't know. I never got past the pictures. I totally get it! Seeing a photo montage of a nicely redecorated living room, color-coordinated, with the latest innovations in home furnishings is--like--well--nearly--you know--a spasm of ecstasy!

Hootch?! You mean, like, fermented? I always heard those California friends were on the edge, but, Hootch?!?!? Yep, I mean fermented! Yeah we were edgy out there in California. Heathern.

Get the hootch flowing , boys, before this gets out of hand, you heathern brethren. lol Hey, that sounds like a very good name for your new "church" H.B., abbreviated, hmm Maybe HHB , more appropriate. Yes, Hootch Heathern Brethern , it is. Alvin ps. Seems like Bob has some ideas from those magazines , for poster invitations or whatever direction you plan to go.

Now that is indeed an idea for gospel meeting invitations. HAHAHAHAHA The reaction would probably be as interesting as when the overseer discovered that his companion had advertised their gospel meetings on TV.

But I've got verses to back up my position. Well 13 guys did sit around at the last supper drinking wine sooo..... BUT BUT, is there a translation that actually calls it "hootch". If not, your post is invalid , and hootch does not qualify. Wine ONLY, is the correct way. Wonder if it was olive wine or what ........ not likely dandelion wine ...... Alvin kinda counting on you , snow, to support this "hootch" church if it does really fly, like it looks it will..... I know you maybe not so regular churchgoer but this might be a gamechanger ?? with Bob's décor and all, I dunno, it might be the "ONLY WAY"...... I'm gonna just sit on the sidelines for a bit and see how it all unfolds.....

Personally with all the different versions of the gospel, I'm sure someone just copied it wrong. In the Q version I'm pretty sure they were drinking hootch but Mark (who wrote the first gospel and whom everyone copied, and never even knew Jesus anyway) was a wine drinker so he decided it should be re defined as wine, to make it all proper and all.

If Jesus decided to use his powers to turn water into wine, why would he make it alcohol free? I doubt it would have been inferior stuff after all.

Well I don't really have any problem with a group that don't drink so it doesn't become a problem for someone who can't handle drinking. That's rather considerate actually. What I don't agree with though is making it a sin .

I have so many red raspberries right now. I like them fresh but not as pies or jelly & I can only eat so many, so decided I will try some red raspberry wine!
It is happily bubbling away in the basement.

Fermentation so frequently wrecks havoc with the taste of the products being fermented that I find it safer to just add the crushed raspberries with a little sugar to vodka or perhaps a mixture of dry red wine and brandy, allow to sit for a month or two, then filter and enjoy.

Sigh, -I know, I can't always get the taste right.
Mixing the raspberries with something else sounds like a good idea.
We usually don't have such a large crop of raspberries in the summer,- just a large crop in the fall about late Oct.
However, it has been so wet in June, -it broke the record for June, -the crop is outdoing itself.
Trying to get the yeast/sugar ratio just right is a challenge.

I haven't read much of this thread but the title is intriguing.
Here's my guess: Professor Plum in the sleeping quarters with the candlestick.
PM me if I win the prize.
