Do you find that some seem staged or trying to speak and pray to the workers? If it is a young brother or sister, it won't change things. But a lead worker and especially an overseer can really change the dynamics of the meeting.

in recent years I don't remember anyone trying to blow smoke their way through meetings when workers are present...

It's called acting, a few of us were guilty of that.

We are having our Australian Special Meetings. The one I attended for the day made no mention of any Worker. When I came home and read the TMB it was about nothing but Workers. Why are exes so obsessed about Workers, and so little about Jesus?

Maybe a clue might be found at the top of this page, Bert. This board is about your church and not Jesus although people are free to talk about Jesus if they want - seems as if anything goes these days. If you want to hear more about Jesus and less about the workers then there are plenty of threads on the Trinity to wet your appetite. A new thread started today is not about the workers but all about Jesus and how he lives on Venus. That might appeal to you more than the threads that talk about the workers or even Jesus. It was started by a professing person and not one of us apostates from your church too. There's something for everyone. Don't just limit yourself to the threads on the workers.

Well you guys WOULD say that, wouldn't you? Methinks that's a Cop-out. If WE talk about Workers it is noted here as "all they talk about is Workers." And this is one of the major criticisms of us on these boards. Look up "Freudian Projection" on Google. "Freud considered that in projection thoughts, motivations, desires, and feelings that cannot be accepted as one's own are dealt with by being placed in the outside world and attributed to someone else."

The F&W are first-of-all a social organization, and secondly, a theologically-inclined one.

Well you aren't speaking of my experience. If I want a social group I can easily find one that doesn't occupy so much of my time.

They use to say Kill Your Television.
I say kill your TMB.
Its a waste of time with the dominance of atheists.

I thought you were the one doing the projection, Bert. I have been known to be wrong in the past and maybe this is just one more of these times. Thanks for putting me straight.

Yes, according to the TMB we are just Worker obsessed, spiritual slackers who are totally screwed up because we don't realize that everything we believe in came from some sad guy called William Irvine.

William Irvine delivered us from religious confusion and brought us back to the lowly Jesus who walked and taught on the shores of Galilee.

I think if there was even just one atheist participating, some would perceive that the board was dominated by atheists.

It's called acting, a few of us were guilty of that. would that then suggest that there was little or no respect for Christ at that time?

It is - with some trepidation... I don't want to spend the next 20 pages trying to explain what I am saying. In spite of his failings, the early workers spoke highly of William Irvine. This from Edward Cooney:

See how much you can learn from atheists?
Even Bert says so!
