I have heard that DS had shared the stage with Graham just before he professed? Is that true?

Not likely. Dale was on his way to seminary when he stopped for a visit with relatives. They took him to convention where he professed.

I have heard that DS had shared the stage with Graham just before he professed? Is that true? Yes he did. My husband recalls DS telling him that himself at one convention. I remember hearing it from others as well. If we remember correctly, DS was one of the introductory speakers at Graham's evangelistic crusades. He was planning on going to seminary at the time, but on the way to seminary he stopped off to visit an aunt who was professing and she introduced him to the workers. He was impressed with the idea of homeless ministry and wanted to pursue it along with going to seminary. However, at some point he gave up the seminary and professed.

I believe Dale is in a care home in Oklahoma. He was in the work as long as he was able up until a couple years ago. And I've heard him tell the same events; going to a meeting with his aunt, on his way to seminary, etc.

Someone asked me to chime in on this, and since I've heard Dale tell it a few times, I'll contribute what I know. As an army officer in Japan right after WW2, he was very involved in Youth For Christ and was instrumental in converting a number of people. Upon returning to the States, he was asked to speak at a YFC rally (I'm thinking it was in Los Angeles, but could have been San Francisco) and tell about the YFC work in Japan. After he spoke (and I'm not sure whether there were other speakers or not), Billy Graham delivered the main sermon. It was a one-time occurrence.
Once when Dale and I were visiting his dad's home, his dad wanted us to watch a Billy Graham campaign on TV with him, which we did, and then his dad wanted Dale to tell the story again. Dale's dad was quite proud of the fact, but Dale tried to downplay it and assigned himself a very minor role.
Dale will soon be 92 years old, is in a nursing home in Oakley, KS (his home town). He was active in the work up till his late 80s, when he was no longer able to travel.
After the event with Billy Graham, he returned home to Kansas for the summer, with the aim of entering seminary in Seattle in the fall. On the way to seminary, he stopped to visit his uncle and aunt in Denver. Denver convention (1947) was that week, and they persuaded him to stay for only one meeting of convention. He attended the first meeting, enjoyed it so much that he stayed for the second, and kept on postponing his departure until he finally ended up staying for the whole convention. He professed Saturday night, stayed on in Denver for the next year, and went in the work the following year (1948).

Thank you for sharing that. Something did ring a bell in the back of my mind about YFC, but Dale surely never told it often like he did his testimony of professing!
