If you could only choose one for the rest of your life and have no other candy, what would you choose? - Reese's Pieces - M&M plain - M&M Peanut - M&M other
I would chose M&M Peanut.

No question: M&M peanut. However, in a pinch, almond would do.

Just like within the 2x2s, the color red was once a banned M&M color. But, now it is allowed within the candy and within the group. You may even see someone eating a red M&M during a convention meeting and they won't get in trouble for doing so. Just to make the thread relevant. :)

And crushed insect parts. Yum. Adds to the "crunch". There, see what you can learn here no TMB. And all this time I thought the crunch was related to crystalline sugar. Just goes to show ya.

Since this train is way off the tracks anyway, Trader Joe's offers/offered a Fireworks Chocolate Bar. Dark chocolate with spices (pepper, chile, etc) so it is just a bit hot but also contains popping candy (think Pop-Rocks). Worth trying! What's the tie in? placid-void mentioned the sugar being responsible for the crunch and it brought to mind CO2 under pressure encased in sugar, just waiting for the sugar to become thin enough so the CO2 can burst out and tickle your tongue.

I feel sorry for y'all not even having Smarties as an option on your list. The obvious first choice. They are like M&Ms, only Canadian, thus better.

Another nod to Review005 and attempt to keep the thread legitimate(!): Were/Are these a universal experience at Convention? My favorites were Butter Rum and Tropical Fruit - especially coconut and tangerine.

When I was a kid going to the Christian Reformed (Dutch) church, each Sunday morning my mother would lay out 4 pairs of King Peppermint and 4 pairs of nickels for the collection plate for my three brothers and I. I would carefully time ingestion of the second King Peppermint to get me through the home stretch of the sermon. I would also endorse this product for use at convention. Long lasting, tastes pretty good and a clean slow dissolve effect for kids with no sticky wipe up.
