Some repeatedly make statements here, over and over. Since there are not new posters being addressed, study of psychology teaches me there are other reasons, possibly because not universal definitions are being used? Cannot say I know the reason for such other than my own forgetfulness, maybe.
For instance, 1.) Someone believes Yahu'shuah (the name His peers called him) ha Meshiach (the title bestowed upon Him) lived, died, raised Himself from the dead. 2.) Someone then believes Him to be their Savior, & Kinsman Redeemer. 3.) Someone knows the very moment they were ultimately convicted of these things. 4.) Someone is not trusting in any other group, person, place, power, deeed, or thing to gain entrance to His Kingdom. 5.) Someone has absolute conviction that trusting in these beliefs is Salvation, eternal, everlasting life to them.
For myself any such someone could expect to be called a "Christian" as proven by the non-temporary status or state of belief, conviction, etc. brought into their life by these permanent qualities and beliefs within them. Hence continuing to the end...
Without flaw? Nope. Growing? 1.) in their conviction? Yep. 2.) in their understanding? Yep. 3.) in the ripening fruit of the Spirit? Yep. Repentant? Yep. Whole, complete? Yep. Etc.
Do I believe any such someone either can or will renounce these things? No, I certainly do not, and thus I will not...

Dennis I cant see myself renouncing my faith in his power. Because of experience.
As for others they are responsible for their own choices. It isnt my place to judge anyones relationship. I do/can understand to a point someone turning away from god. IE: Abuse by father or worker. Renouncing seems more extreme than turning away. Then I think of the scripture "he never leaves us nor forsakes us". That has been my experience.

What I was curious about was how many would say I believe those things now and will continue to believe them until I die, vs how many might say, I once believed exactly like you describe and now renounce it all.
