White South Carolina policeman shoots and kills unarmed black man. Cause for stop -- defective tail light. Policeman discovers he is wanted on failure to pay child support, so the man tries to run away. Officer shot him several times in back while running away and man died on site. Officer claimed the man tried to grab his taser, but ironically the man was running away towing the taser behind him on its cord. You will probably see it -- the full tape was shown on our news today.
For once the police are not defending the officer.

Poor police officer, his friend is very ill. Second class citizens should be warned to stay home for the day -- for their own safety.

Interesting what these police officers say before they learn they've been taped. Would you send your kinds out on the street with cops like this watching for their safety?

Also most cell phones have cameras.

So you actually believe shoot to kill is appropriate for running away? Nope. Do you actually believe its worth putting it to the test? What to you mean, put it to a test? You want this policeman excused simply because the man was running away? You're darn right I believe this should be put to a test. We do not exist for the convenience of policemen -- they exists to "protect and serve" EVERYONE, including accused and convicted persons. Instead these immature racists are playing war games with their military hardware and using their own citizens for practice -- and that's not my evaluation, that's the evaluation of a lot of police officials these days. It needs to be tested because people like you refuse to condemn this kind of police action, to the peril of who knows how many innocent civilians. Now that this officer is being charged with murder, do you think he should be excused?

Nope.W hy do you think I want this policeman excused? Perhaps because you keep making certain statements like:
Here's a few tips:
1. If the cop asks to see your hands, move them carefully into his view.
2. If asked to get out of the car, do as you're asked.
3. Don't run away.
These very statements shows you really don't know what it is like to be a black man facing a white policeman.
By making those very statements, camouflaged as "tips," you are "tipping" your hand as to not only your lack of understanding that you have of such situations & and your own attitude as favoring the policeman over the the black man killed by the policeman.
Such posts make it quite transparent.

Because you have never condemned any such actions by police officers. In every case the only thing you can say about it is that people should learn how to prevent cops from shooting them, like trying to evade arrest is a capital crime and shooting someone in the back is the response for anything that annoys a police officer. What do you think of the death penalty for the murderer cop? I expect you believe in the death penalty for the cowardly shooting to kill of someone fleeing you.

Until the (choose your minority group) accepts that there are indeed genuine thugs and criminal elements in their ranks; and call them out rather than blindly defending them, I see no expedient solution.
Until the (choose your law enforcement group) accept that there are indeed genuine thugs and criminals in their ranks and deal with them, rather than sheltering them behind the "wall of blue", I see no expedient solution.
Unfortunately neither group will deal with the "bad apples" in their midst, they would rather shift the blame.
Then there are the blind defenders (who seeing only in the black and white of idealism, rather than the shades of grey that make up most of reality) automatically defend "their" party regardless of circumstances.
I remain optimistic for the future, but maybe not the immediate future.

I am not judge and jury so I won't be guilt-tripped or bullied into condemning anyone. People who run from cops and refuse to do as the cops ask are at risk of getting hurt. I'm not saying that's how it should be.

I remain optimistic for the future, but maybe not the immediate future. You've got one thing wrong. It matters not a whit whether any group accepts or denies the malefactors among them -- (1) they're all supposed to be equal citizens before the law and (2) none of them has the authority to straighten out their own criminals. You didn't mention the majority population. Nothing will ever change until the majority population accepts that it is their responsibility to police THEIR police forces instead of allowing them to investigate themselves.

Who's talking about race? You didn't answer either part of my question. So what. Do you shoot your wife if she doesn't come when you call her? Yes, you are. You persist in poopooing what civilians have a right to expect from their police forces. That translates to mean that we should dispense with our expectation of civil rights. I don't think it bothers you that people get shot like in the video clip of today. You've never expressed any sympathy whatsoever for anyone in that position.

I hate it that anyone gets hurt. That's why I would advise anyone to do as the police ask. Parents and school teachers should advise that as well.
