no just divorced sharon arnold Exactly. There are many people world wide who are divorced with full meeting privileges. It is when they are divorced AND remarried that punitive action is taken. Yes, that is my understanding also. Me think Virgo told a few pork pies to mislead and wind us up, the cunning villain. Ps. "Pork pies" = lies.

As Virgs will testify to...."The Maori originates from Polynesia, yet his tongue is not forked!"

No doubt about it! BTW, I went back and re-edited my remark as shown below:
"Virgo ~ Do you really have to ask Ram? Can't you tell he's really "crackers" after his 2x2 experience by his own admission?"
However, I doubt Ram stands alone here, as I also wondered about my sanity after 30 years within the fold.
yet mine is fine How long have you professed? Give it time.

Exactly. There are many people world wide who are divorced with full meeting privileges. It is when they are divorced AND remarried that punitive action is taken. and is that not scriptual?Virgo ~ Can you give us the Bible verses to support your assumption above? It sounds more like the workers' rules to me to let you know who's really in charge of your life decisions, too? Since the workers also consider themselves the "source of your salvation" due to the Living Witness Doctrine, which was first introduced by John Kerr at their first convention at Crocknacrieve in Ireland, July 1905, and shortly thereafter was endorsed by William Irvine and became a major part of the workers' gospel message to the outside world. However, below is Joe Kerr's letter which was written 40 years after he had cut his association with the 2x2's in 1916 and he speaks about the error of his thinking and how his words were changed to reflect "the idea that the preacher had to be William Irvine or one of his disciples" as part of their preaching style thereafter.

hmmm if madness is hereditary maybe it's a good thing I'm adopted then. It could also explain why I questioned when by parents didn't? Snow ~ You may have a point here? You were not born into the fellowship, but adopted as a child and raised by parents who were already programmed by the 2x2's? However, since your Dad was a former worker, you probably got a double dose of the "unwritten rules" within your home? faune I was adopted at 9 months so I'm sure I had as much indoctrination as anyone B&R. My dad was only an elder in a Sunday morning meeting. He was never a worker. He was self righteous and fanatic enough to be one though. He would have made a great overseer!!

No, tell me; this has got to be a good one. Come on Partaker?? I was challenging your claim that you had never seen a Polynesian with a "forked" tongue! Well most folks normally eat with a knife and a fork, but some do eat with a spoon, but I suppose if a Polynesian Already has forked tongue, then he would only need a knife. When I was a young lad and sneaked a view at the mobile cinema's showings of cow boys and Indians, the Indians would often say that : " white man talk with forked tongue." Were you insinuating that someone was speaking with forked tongue?

However, "Crackers" came to mind as a result of one of Groucho Marx's famous slap-stitch comedies. He was a legend in his time with his sense of humor and witty remarks still live on today with words such as "crackers" for "nutcase."

Faune, your intentions were noble, but I prefer the truth to be told!

Ram ~ Did you notice above that I got Shirley Temple's famous song, "Animal Crackers in My Soup" accidently confused with Groucho Marx's film, "Animal Crackers" and went back to re-edit my remark? Talk about "crackers" ~ I'm already there!

In addition, I just love Groucho Marx's quotes, especially the ones about humor and having fun!

“Humor is reason gone mad.” ― Groucho Marx
I would say "madness" is humour that has no reason!
