There is no consensus over the nature of the resurrected body in Christendom. My 2x2 upbringing was characterized by a dualism that was actively hostile to the concept of a bodily resurrection, taking "body" to mean anything resembling the nature of the bodies we now occupy. But what do I know about the "resurrected body", as scripture proclaims its distinction? Nothing, apart from the body's tendency to thrive when its mind does, and the general resurrection of Christ in the sons of man.

If they were floating then It would make for a better viewing angle for eternally watching as every 3.6 seconds another child dies from starvation! The problem of a god who creates or allows evil seems more important to think about than the seating arrangements in heaven. www.unicef.org/mdg/poverty.htmlJMT Attachments:

Well I don't know if we/ they will all be spirits floating around, in heaven or in hell, but I recall a sister worker speaking at a convention making reference to the parable of Lazarus and the rich man, and she seemed convinced that we would recognize one another just as The rich man in hell recognized Lazarus afar off ( in heaven???) in the bosom of Abraham and cried: " Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue" etc. etc. Ps. Logically thinking, if we are going to have a tongue and fingers then we certainly won't be spirits floating around, right?

Logically thinking, if we are going to have a tongue and fingers then we certainly won't be spirits floating around, right? Paul wrote in one of his epistles that the Christians that would be gathered to be with Jesus would be like Jesus, "For we would know him." Well, Jesus' natural flesh body never saw corruption and that is the body that was transfigured before his death on the cross. And that transfigured body could have gone on to heaven the moment it was gransfigured and anytime before his crucifixion. Though Jesus went through that torment for all our sins, his body did not corrupt but arose and actually is the body that his Apostles saw rise into heaven. So Jesus having a transfigured body, tells me that God is well able to gather up the dust and ashes that once was our feeble flesh and fit them together perfectly and give us a perfect body without all the pain and anguish that any of us may have suffered and then Jesus will take us to heaven for a short time while the tribulation is finished and then he will return to the earth with his church for his millennial reign. All having the same kind of body, and a body recognizable by the people still alive on the earth!

Nathan, it troubles me greatly when I read you writing at how anxious you are to met the imaginary Thor and other great creatures imagined by children and men in heaven, as if that is the reason you hang on to your belief in there being a heaven, etc and not granting credit to the saving power of our Saviour's blood, and the comforting, edifying of the Holy Spirit.......kind of makes me wonder just how close to being disrespectful of the SAviour and the Holy Spirit such idolatry is. It does say lay treasure up in heaven where theft and rust cannot enter in......It'd taken me almost 70 yrs. to realize what "treasure" I should be laying up in heaven....well, to me that is Jesus Christ my God and Saviour. You may want to say he's already laid up in heaven, that's so, but in my heart and mind is where I need to do that for myself....loving, keeping him as king of kings, prince of peace, etc in my heart and mind and life.....otherwords, not making the presence of anyone else in heaven being an expected or wanted happening other then Jesus....for is Jesus not our mediator with the FAther? With the Holy Spirit? Is he not also the SAviour of all mankind? Is he not being the most important being for all of mankind though most mankind do not understand it that way?
Yes, we often get to wondering about who else will be in heaven.....when I think about the vision I had of Jesus Christ motioning for me to come to him...I realized a short time ago that it was possible that at the same time that invitation was also meant for others. I just didn't know about that nor did I need to know about it. And furthermore I don't really care for me it was a very personal invitation, yet I leave it open to share it with others should the Lord have meant it to be shared!

Nathan, don't you think these stories will get old eventually? After all we are talking about an eternity of listening to them now aren't we? I can't even fathom a heaven that has a view of hell and eternal torture of those who 'made the wrong decision'. How hellish would that be? Really?

How does Val Thor help us? Do you mean by going to governments? I know the media is controlled by governments.
