If so she would be about 105 and possibly the longest living worker. George Walker died at 104. Louie Ryan reached 100 as did Berlin Raymond, Garrett Hughes (or he was close to it). Ruby Smith was way over 100 also.I wonder how many workers reached 100. Merle Howland would be close to 100 if still living. Is Roy Lacy still alive? Leslie Olsen is past 100.

A friend wrote me this:
Amy Patterson lived to be over 105... she died in Australia. She never really offered for the work. She said she offered to help in Gospel meetings when one sister worker was alone, and she stayed on. She was brilliant... she also said that she was part Aborigine

I've a vague notion that this has come up before, the existence of another Amy P, but I never knew of her, had never heard of her. Someone might be able to fill in the blanks about her life?

Amy Patterson who is still alive (age 92) is a niece of Amy Patterson that died at age 105. The elder Amy spent a large portion of her life in Oregon USA, but returned to Australia a few years before her death. She started in the work in 1910, died in 1994. Her niece Amy started in the work in 1951 and spent a number of years in India as well as in Australia.

Merle Howland,,,former overseer in SC or PA I wonder if he still has that glorious head of hair. Gene, you may be thinking of Merlin Howlett, a western Canadian who spent much of his life in Korea and other Asian countries. He died in 2012 at age 83. He did indeed have an impressive head of hair. I don't remember anything particularly outstanding about Murhl Howland's hair except that he has a fair amount of it still for someone his age; he is still alive at age 100 in Pennsylvania.
