Because of the attempts to identify posters by their standing in the fellowship, this entire thread has been moved from the board.
One of the main reasons that anonymity is 'protected' here on the TMB, is for professing people to feel free to state their thoughts and opinions without fear of being identified by workers and other professing people. This to protect them from being harassed by workers and other members of the fellowship for being outspoken about issues that they see that are not addressed by senior workers. There have been several incidences of people being given 'worker talks' for their participation here in the past, and intimidation and bullying tactics used because of their involvement on the TMB. Likewise, 'ex' members with family wish to be anonymous so that they do not create issues for their professing relatives.
I have read PM's from people who have been harassed by registered workers and friends here on the TMB for openly stating their thoughts and opinions. These PM's were intimidating and designed to get those members to refrain from criticizing workers and upsetting the status quo. Pretty sad when workers and friends feel they need to resort to such actions in order to perpetuate the feeling of unity. Likewise, I have read PM's and emails from 'exes' who have tried to gang up on certain posters in order to perpetuate the 'evils of the cult' and downplay the good side of the fellowship that so many professing people enjoy.
There are also workers that are registered members here on the board, and some of them are open minded about the issues in the church and willing to openly discuss them without resorting to trying to identify members who are outspoken about problems that they see. Their anonymity is also needing to be protected. Some of these workers have allowed themselves to be known as being workers, and that is fine. However, their names are not allowed to be posted unless they identify themselves.
Please refrain from using tactics which are designed to identify individuals by name. While some of those names are the worst kept secrets on the board (as is the case on this thread that has been moved) it is still not allowed to openly identify them.
This board for the most part is expected to function by self moderation, with as little intervention as possible from the Admin and moderators. Whenever we step in to take action, we tend to be attacked for being 'board nazis' and restricting free speech or some other such nonsense.
So....... if you can't stick to the rules, then please take your toys and move to another sandbox to play in, otherwise carry on and feel free to play with each others toys and kick sand all over and outside of the sandbox.
