Faune, given people are not comfortable with 50% of the New Testament because it deals with authority, judgement, ministry and rules - what part of Matthew 7 would be a problem?

Who does the interpretation for the Gateway bible?
I keep hearing it given for reference but I can't find who does it.

I'd love to hear someone try something like that in meeting. I don't quote the Message in meeting, but I do use thoughts from it that have cleared up my understanding.

Quote - "I told a story abut Muhammad one morning in meeting and it went over VERY well." They probably thought you were refering to a local taxi driver, or fruiterer, or laundry guy.
Here's one for "Bert's bible." "If you claim to live for Jesus then it ain't enough to say you "believe" or you're "saved" but you M.U.S.T...L.I.V.E...A.S....J.E.S.U.S.....L.I.V.E.D....."
But it aintly only in my bible, or the William Irvine 1897 bible, I found it in lots of bibles!!!
New International Version Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.
New Living Translation Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did.
English Standard Version whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.
New American Standard Bible the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.
King James Bible He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
Holman Christian Standard Bible The one who says he remains in Him should walk just as He walked.
International Standard Version The one who says that he abides in him must live the same way he himself lived.

Doing what Jesus did -- that makes sense, I suppose. But who does that? Anyone on here ever go into a church and throw things all around?

I'd love to hear someone try something like that in meeting. I'm sure what I just added earlier as an example from Matthew 7 would be a great ice breaker in any 2x2 fellowship meeting! LOL Faune, I work on the proposal that most of what I read on this board provides clues more to the accuser than the accused. Now here you are saying there are parts of Matthew 7 "we" don't like. Without evidence, let alone proof. Let me say that on this board there is a general consensus that a - the Epistles of Paul are not scriptural b - John's Revelation was probably fake, and by extension - his epistles and Gospel (and thus ALL the Gospels) c - Jesus is judged by what He did, and ignored for most of what He said (which, incidentally is no different to Paul and John) d - there is great mystery as to where we get this idea of true itinerant preaching and home worship - sister? mother? lunatic preacher? AND THEN ACCUSE US OF AVOIDING CERTAIN VERSES IN MATTHEW 7. AND OH... JUDGING US IN THE VERY SAME BREATH.
