There is another aspect to this as well. At the Max Planck Institute John-Dylan Haynes found that that decisions are made by unconscious mind up to 7 seconds before the conscious mind is informed. Test subjects were told to press a button with either their right or left hand and try to remember when they made the decision which hand to use. By looking at brain activity the researchers could determine which hand would be used well before the subjects said they made up their mind. The original work was done a few years ago but follow-up research have verified the results and added data. It raises the question of free will - are you making decisions or being told what decisions have been made? Have the reptilians invaded our brains and are making decisions for us? More info here - but not about the reptilians!.Yes, I'd read about that. Thought it was interesting and it did cross my mind about just how much free will we really have vs how much we think we have. My brain is seeing something, interpreting it and has made up it's mind before I am even conscious there was something to make a decision about. However, if we weren't made that way to some degree, a lot of us would be dead. It is that automatic processing and reacting to danger that probably has saved a few lives. I have wondered about choices in our daily living. I think our rationale and our willpower as individuals is as different from one another as our intellect, personality, and physical being.

I have wondered about choices in our daily living. I think our rationale and our willpower as individuals is as different from one another as our intellect, personality, and physical being. I think we are more alike though than we really think. The title of the chapter I'm on right now is titled "We lie, cheat, and justify so well that we honestly believe we are honest". I think that's absolutely true. I read that and immediately wanted to say 'that's not true'. But I think it really is when I am entirely honest with myself, if that's even a possibility. It may explain why the workers are so far off base in some things yet honestly feel they are honest. It talked about how honest people are when they feel that their actions are 'invisible' and it's not a good track record. Seeing as the workers are not 'transparent' about their dealings, I would imagine there is a huge potential for them to not be entirely honest, since no one can know if they are or not, and still justify it with the old reasons passed down to them. This would then make them believe they are honest and this belief would lead to no changes because everything is 'just fine'.

You can judge your moral compass by evaluating your behavior when you believe your actions are invisible. Everyone goes the speed limit when they are aware that car behind them is a police car!

The workers discourage college? Did you mean past tense? I've seen none of this in the last 20 years...although I imagine it would have been discouraged for women, by those who think they should only be housewives/stat at home moms. Yes, past tense. I have not professed for more than 20 years, so I am not aware of all the changes since then. I do remember frequent preaching in gospel meetings on; Hebrews 13:8 "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." It's good to see this change in their position on higher education.

There is and it sounds like they have a good time. Make it more personal. Think on it and make yourself believe that gravity does not work. Then when you have you have made yourself believe step off a tall structure. Ha, that doesn't scare me...gravity is just a theory! Exactly. You can't even see it with a microscope, I bet. If I can't see it , I won't believe it. lol Alvin
