How could we get the US to stop doing that? a complete change of congress and the white house would be a start, but that ain't gonna happen anytime soon... And that isn't the government's fault, is it?

Are child brides a human rights issue?
Or are we culturally insensitive, or anti-Islamic, if we condemn them?
Some countries have no minimum age for marriage.

Some countries have no minimum age for marriage. ***** California, Kansas, and Massachusetts, have no statutory minimum age under which marriage licenses will not be issued So a seventy year old man could legally marry a seven year old girl in California, Kansas, and Massachusetts?

Minors under 18 in California need parental consent and a court order obtained on the showing the court requires - See more at: marriage.uslegal.com/age-requirements/california/#sthash.PADmyEQq.dpufThe exception for allowing minors to marry in the USA is for cases of pregnancy.
