An author from the U.K. named Pamela Ruth Stewart has recently published her autobiography in a book titled “The Certainty of the Unexpected. She found my website lately and emailed me. She left meetings in 1989 and has “come a long way since then with a lot of tears, pain and loneliness along the way. But God is good and has brought me to a place of great abundance and ministry.” She writes about her life growing up in “The Way” in the 2nd chapter titled “Religion’s Hard Road.” She was introduced to the Good News of God’s grace by her late husband to whom she has dedicated her book. She also has a website! It is www.prsministries.com. I asked if she would allow me to post Chapter 2 of her book on the TLC Website in the "Why We Left" stories. She and her publisher gave their permission. You may read her story on the TLC Website at this link: The Certainty of the UnexpectedHer book is also available on Amazon kindle

Wow certainly remember the shaking and the fear when I professed. The way she describes it brings it all back like it was yesterday. I was 8 years old and so scared. Stanley Lee was the worker. I loved Stanley and I now wonder if I didn't profess because I wanted to make him happy. One looks back and can speculate, but it's a blur in some ways. Thanks for posting Cherie!

A breath of fresh air. So lovely to see a women Bible teacher that cares about looking nice and feminine rather than dowdy and masculine like female workers who are no credit to the God they claim to serve.

The book arrived in the post today and when I read the first page I was captivated and could not stop reading until I had gone through the entire book of 147 pages. The book is an emotional roller-coaster that tells a very personal story of a journey to saving faith in Christ and a continuous journey of faith in Christ through many sufferings and trials. Pamela tells her story without a trace of bitterness or recrimination and gives God the glory. It is my prayer that God will use this book to bring light where there is darkness and that He blesses Pamela’s ministry with a rich harvest of many coming to saving faith in Christ alone. She surely exemplifies:
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. (John 15:16 ESV)

I would second Irvine`s comments. it certainly is a captivating read and an emotional roller-coaster. I bought the kindle version, sat down to read for 20 minutes but just had to keep reading right the way through.

Lovely book review for what you make sound a lovely book. I would have liked a glimpse of how old she was when she left meetings and the outcome of her husband's illness. Or are you not wanting to give too much away so we will read it ourselves. i.e. just wetting our appetite.

I downloaded the kindle version. I feel bad for all she went through but was encouraged by her closeness to God and how she never gave up.

I have just finished reading this book for a second time and I am deeply moved by a story that is told with sensitivity and without rancour. This book deserves a wide audience and it is only a very obscurantist 2x2 who would accuse Pamela of being a bitter ex.

i there, thank you very much for doing a review on my book. I have read through the article and found your comments very interesting. Particularly the "conservative belief" comments! I was surprised to read that you had be B&R in the 2x2s but it sounds like your experience was more positive then most and I was pleased to hear that not everyone has suffered in the same way. Thanks again.

Hi Mary, In answer to your question about how old I was when I left meetings:I left when I was 30 years old. Regarding the outcome of my husband's illness he died in 2005 of cancer. If you have any more questions I am more than happy to oblige (within reason!).
Also I really appreciated your comments about female preachers looking feminine rather than dowdy and masculine!!

I am so pleased that you can see there is no bitterness or rancour. My heart's prayer continues to be the release of the captives into the wonder of God's grace through Jesus Christ.
