I am finally going to meet my sister on my birth father's side. I met my brother last fall for the first time and my sister was not sure. She has finally said that she thinks it's time for us to meet. I am going to see her the end of July. I am so excited, but also nervous. We have a program in N.Z about a guy who researches and finds lost relatives, mostly birth mothers and fathers. Often it brings tears to your eyes watching as an adult child meets their birth parent for the first time or an adult child meets up with their birth parent after years of not knowing them. Sometimes they learn they have passed away but their unknown siblings are located. It’s an emotion truely only ‘they’ could feel. All the best Snow. I have done all my own research and found them all now. I met my birth mom in 1998 and 5 siblings, 2 brothers and 3 sisters. I found my dad too but he didn't want contact. So I just waited watching obituaries to see when he passed away and then I finally had access to my brothers and sister's names so I could finally contact them. It was a very common last name and without their first names they were almost impossible to find. But obituaries give first and last names as well as where they live. I knew if I waited long enough I would find them finally and I did. I met my one brother last fall and that went well. My other brother lives in Melbourne and he doesn't have much to do with his Canadian relatives and he has not acknowledged me. He had a pretty hard time with our father so I don't blame him. My sister was the oldest and had her own issues with her dad so she has taken a long time to be comfortable with meeting me. She has kept in touch sending pictures etc. though. Just recently she said she was thinking it was time we met in person and sent her cell number even! So I will be visiting her in her home which also surprised me. I suggested a neutral place like a coffee shop so I am glad she trusts me enough now to give me her phone number and let me see where she lives. I found my sister in laws son about 15 years ago for her. I have found a few adoptees since then since people knew I had found mine. You never know what you will find when you go looking. There is usually a good reason why you were given up. Not so much in my age group as the mom's weren't terrible people, they just were ostracized for having an illegitimate child back then and it was better for both them and the child to give them up. But now where there isn't the same judgement, usually the reason is because of mental illness or addictions. There are still some of course that just don't think they can do justice to raising them alone. Different times now and different reasons. I am so glad my mom never married my father. He was so abusive apparently.

Wow he's talented! Part of his song sounds like he's really trying to talk, but it's amazing how he can mimic other birds so well. Thanks Wally

Everyone seems to be doing this app lately. There are warnings on facebook to not use it because of the clause attached to it, which is really not 'good'. So I went looking to see if there was anything to the warnings or if they were off base and found this. Apparently it's not good, and once you have done it, it can't be reversed, but it's not as bad as the warnings are making out. Probably just not a good thing to do. www.vox.com/the-goods/2019/7/17/20698271/faceapp-privacy-panic-russia-old-face-filter-app

We are already photo ID'd in a way that government could use by our license, passports etc. I'm not sure if this would be accessible by other countries, but yes, it's already done in that sense by our governments. I have heard of that too. That drones can pick people out of crowds. China is building a huge database on all their citizens to do just that. Find criminals easier. By the loose terms China uses for a definition of 'criminal' in their country, that means just about anyone they don't like or agree with. www.scmp.com/news/china/society/article/2141387/facial-recognition-tech-catches-fugitive-among-huge-crowd-pop

“There is no difference between Communism and Socialism, except in the same ultimate end: Communism proposes to enslave men by force, Socialism by the vote. It is merely the difference between murder and suicide.” – Ayn Rand

That's an interesting site. Many suffered. I especially related to the one that said that they professed at age 8 and stayed in the church because her brother left and broke their parents heart. That was one of the hardest aspects of leaving. Hurting my parents.

sounds like a lot of disgruntled ex's to me... Wally, a lot of people were really mistreated when they decided that they didn't believe what their parents believed. The hardest thing for me was knowing I'd be hurting my parents, who I loved, by not agreeing with their religion. I was also made to attend all meetings and conventions until I left home. I wrote my final exam in grade 12 and I was out of town by midnight that night. I moved to a different city in a different province. If I'd tried to stay in my home town my parents would have done everything possible to guilt and shame me back into the group. Letters doing it were hard enough.

Ecc 10:2 A wise man's heart is at his right hand; but a fool's heart at his left. Is this a political lesson?

Ecc 10:2 A wise man's heart is at his right hand; but a fool's heart at his left. Is this a political lesson? just thought it was a little humorous that it was said out loud about 900 years before Christ....
